Great location. Cosy chalet.

Lovely spot adjacent to the beach. South Shields was lovely. even in cold February! Plenty of nice restaurants within walking distance, all very good value. Communication from host was clear and simple. Chalet was small, as expected, but perfectly adequate for a family of four. It was cold, but soon warmed up with heaters on.

Location amazing

Smelt bad on entry. Very different to smell and stay when I visited in October. Steer ripped hard a throw across it with blanket on entry stitching coming apart at seem. Heater in bathroom didn’t work.

Fantastic spot for a lovely long weekend by the fair and beach.

The location was spot on. The kids loved being so close to the fun fair. Love that everywhere is flat.

We was a little cold but this wasn’t a reflection on the chalet and we did have a bit of condensation in the bedrooms first thing but also not an issue 😁

Sandhaven heaven

The morning view was outstanding, pretty quite, and 30 seconds from the sea.

Because we needed dog friendly this chalet had 2 single beds, no problem comfortable.

Perfect for the visit.

Location. It was lovely being so close to the sea. Seeing the sea from the chalet window was a real treat. Being able to get up, walk to the sea and watch the sunrise was special.

There was nothing to hang clothes on in the main bedroom. The chalet was smaller than expected but plenty of space for two people.

Perfect for what we needed, all the basics in the chalet for self catering. Love that they do dog friendly chalets. Right on the sea front, so a minute walk if that from the sea.

this place is heaven! right next to the beach...literally the kids loved just getting up and running over the dunes to play on the beach all day

Not the best

Location is lovely

Honestly it was over priced and wasn't in best condition, there was holes in wall where door was, front door jammed, shower was hanging off, no toilet lid, carpets were filthy, kitchen and bedroom light was like being in a rave when you turned it on, kitchen was clean etc but rest of place wasn't as we expected, it was £248 for 2 nights which is rather steep for how it was

Had a great 3 days but we felt had we been staying longer we would have needed to do a clean first.

Location to beach and no noise during the night. Great to be able to park car so close and for free.

Chalet 8 wasn’t clean - the door mat was covered in dog hair, there are mushrooms growing on the bottom left of the shower entrance, the toaster was covered in crumbs, there is shattered glass under to the right of the fridge and an empty plastic bag. Bathroom walls need painting. Window frames need cleaning as a lot of dust from road out back. Mirror on side of wardrobe would be better placed for easier access. TV needs cleaning. We had very little cutlery/utensils whereas Chalets 6 and 7 had more.

Very cute chalet in a fabulous location

The chalet was very cute, perfect for the two of us (myself and daughter), and had everything we needed. It was scrupulously clean, and providing things like a tea towel, washing-up liquid, handwash etc was unexpected and a nice touch. Wi-Fi is good, phone reception good, and there are plenty of plug sockets which is a bonus! The couch was very comfy and the carpet is either very new or very well looked after. The owner’s communication was spot on, and key collection, instructions for parking etc was a breeze. We didn’t meet the owner but she seems really lovely, and was readily available via text. Location couldn’t be any better. Loved opening the door to gaze out onto the beach. The sunsets are spectacular. This was our first visit to South Shields, and we’re already looking to return - and we will definitely book this chalet again if it’s available. As an aside, the council/locals are to be congratulated for the pristine beach. I’ve never seen a beach like it (in this country!).

The only thing I wasn’t keen on was the bed (the double). The mattress felt lumpy, and it was hard to get comfortable. But I managed. My daughter said her bed was fine though (she was in bunk beds, I think she tried them both!).

Overall the holiday accommodation was great just a few things that could easily be addressed to make the stay more bette

Love the closeness to the beach. Property itself was lovely and clean could not fault that.

Lack of utensils, not equipped for four people as we only had two forks had to borrow from a neighbour, two mugs and three plates. One of the pots handles very lose and no frying pan had to buy one ourselves. Bathroom had no toilet brush and also the toilet roll and towel holder was lose from the wall. Sofa in the living room very uncomfortable felt the springs when sitting down so had to use pillows to sit on when using. No mirror in double bedroom.

Due to the size of the chalet it lacks storage the sofa could of been more comfortable but i understand this is a dog friendly chalet so things need to be easily wiped eg it been a leather sofa

At first look the view is stunning, the chalets tiny and look a little shabby, inside gorgeous and compact. You cannot get closer to the beach. Everything you need and there seems to be a certain amount of sound-proofing too. We were next to the pub and were not disturbed at all. LOVED them. Great communication and service as well from the staff. Very friendly and helpful.

Couple of nights over bank holiday.

Location on the Sandhaven beachfront on the promenade is brilliant. The rooms are clean, comfortable and functional for a few days. We had chalet 3 which had a double bedroom and a single bedroom. There was a living space too with a fully kitted out kitchen, comfy sofa and a TV. Free parking either out front of the chalets or at the Rattler Car Park. Rachel kept in touch via text message with all instructions and any help we needed.

Quite small but it was cosy. There was a little bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. Despite being small it was great. It did quite quite cold but there is an electric fire in the lounge area and each bedroom had a fan heater mounted on the wall which got quite warm, quite quickly. You need to remember your own towels!

Brilliant stay! 😃

Beach chalet on the beach, Rachel, our host was very helpful giving us info on local sights and things to do, chalet is within 10 minutes walk to fair, mini golf, swimming and town centre, beautiful park with boat lake across the road. Chalet was nice and clean and comfortable enough for 2 adults and 2 children. We've had a lovely break and will definitely return!
