Dar Merzouga Meknes

A wonderful Riad, lots of space, a cool lounge, a shady rooftop, generous rooms, very helpful staff. Fast internet and near to the parking lot.

I had no worries at all, but if you are looking for perfection in shower and toilet plumbing, this is not the place to find it.

Absolutely beautiful riad with ornate decorations and traditional furnishings, great to just sit and relax in. Staff are fantastic and so attentive and accommodating. Rooms are great value for money, quite spacious, and shower is very hot. Amazing plentiful breakfast!

Shower room quite small, door to my room was difficult to open and lock. Lighting could be improved to be warmer and ambient. All lights are very white and overhead.

Salah, the assistant worker is a decent, sensitive, multi-lingual person who is always there working 24 hours a day. The location near northern gate (bab berdaine) is helpful for directions and quick access to transport plus location is very much part of local community. Roof-terrace view terrific. Internal decor of the Dar seems great but with hardly ever any lights on, it goes un-noticed.

Dormitory option means noise (very difficult to fall asleep) from ground-floor until everyone goes to bed around midnight. Water in the basins, showers and toilets (yes the toilet did NOT FLUSH) was completely off for my first 20 hours of 3 night stay. Mustapha the manager seemed to think water available part of the day is acceptable and did not like a French guest complaining about this. The breakfast of one tiny omelette, 6 pieces baguette with 3 types jam and some tea was nicely presented but hardly felt worth the wait (20mins each morning after arriving at breakfast table). This was served in almost darkness on ground floor...a bit weird to tell the truth.
