Tabua Village Madeira

It is in a perfect location. The hosts are super nice, always going the extra mile for us: reserved table for every room, giving taste of own banana, even giving small goodbye present in the end.

There were not enough parking spaces, which made it difficult to park in the garden if we arrived later than others. Sometimes it was difficult to get out of the garden by car as big vans working in the garden blocked the way. Also, the bed and especially the pillows were not super comfortable.

Lovely surroundings and liked the way the "dining area" was outside, in a covered area with a country farmhouse type of feel.

The weather wasn't the best and the garden was neglected. There was a lot of wind one night and stuff was everywhere the morning after but wasn't moved until teatime (after we mentioned it?). There were times when it would have been nice to sit on the lawn but it wasn't inviting - certainly compared to the impressive advertised video. We didn't speak to the main owner until the night we were leaving and they were very nice, kind and gave us some gifts, plus more information about the accommodation. This was unfortunately too late. We would certainly retun=rn though.

Tabua village is a magical place on a banana plantation. Each room has its dedicated outdoor sitting area and it is absolutely gorgeous. The room itself was basic but clean and had everything you need. Best of all were the owners who brought us a little gift everyday as well as at the end of the stay.

Parking is a little difficult. You can drive in ok but there is no space to turn so you have to reverse up a steep slope back to the (thankfully) quiet road when leaving.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Everything was perfect — the room, kitchen, and bathroom were super clean, and had everything we needed (and more!). You can really tell that the hosts have put a lot of thought and care into every little detail. The place has such a lovely, peaceful vibe — the common spaces are beautifully designed, surrounded by banana fields, with a cozy garden full of charm. There’s even a little viewpoint behind the house where you can watch the most incredible sunsets — it was honestly magical. The hosts were amazing — so kind, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They even surprised us with fresh fruits from their garden, which was such a sweet touch! We felt completely at home from the moment we arrived. We had the best time and can’t recommend this place enough. We’d come back in a heartbeat!

The beds were a bit too soft for our taste, but honestly, that’s the only tiny thing — everything else was absolutely perfect!
