About this apartment rental
Our 1 Bedroom Garden View condo has a fully equipped kitchen, 1 bedroom and 1 full bathroom. The bedroom has a Queen size bed. There is also a pull out sleeper sofa in the living room. They are very spacious units. The units are fully stocked with linens, towels, and all kitchen utilities and appliances. We manage several condos at Pono Kai and guarantee unit size and view, not specific building or floor.
The bathroom is furnished with starter soap, shampoo and conditioner, along with a hair dryer. There is an iron and ironing board within the unit as well.
The resort is located in the historic town of Kapaa, Kauai. You can catch the sunrise in the morning over the Pacific Ocean or even see whales during migrating season. The resort is within walking distance of restaurants, boutiques, shopping and grocery stores.
The Pono Kai Resort has many amenities on site. Tennis, basketball, exercise room, shuffle board, horse shoes, mini golf, croquet court, board games, just to name a few. You can rent bicycles next door and we are located within 5 minutes from all water activities; canoeing, kayaking, surfing, etc...
There are BBQ's located throughout the resort and laundry facilities located within each building.

We experienced so much Aloha while staying at Pono Kai, Kaua’i! The accommodations were perfect with a full kitchen, separate bedroom, and spacious lanai with a gorgeous view of the ocean to the east and mountains to the north! There were many authentic activities such as hula lessons, lei making, and chair massages that we enjoyed! The grounds are beautifully kept with tropical flowers and a koi pond. Be sure to stop by the concierge service to see “Cy”. He is most helpful with information on all of the best island activities and securing reservations! Best of all, it’s walking distance to downtown Kapaa and right on the bus route to most places on the island from Hanalei to Waimea. Mahalo!

Very clean and well kept. Very nice location. Quiet, close to shops, restaurants and right on the ocean. Having a concierge on site was great.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pono Kai. It was nice having a full kitchen and we cooked breakfast every day and dinners a few times to save some money for our other adventures. The traffic in Kapa’a town is a little crazy but that’s not their fault. It’s nice being, halfway in between the north and the south so when you choose, which way you wanna go you’re already halfway there.

Pros: Great property location, nice ocean view from unit F105 ground floor, clean property, AC cooled down the living room nicely.
Cons: Photos were from another unit but I think we got a little better view. Very uncomfortable couch cushions, broke down so much that your legs hit the metal bar. If you are a light sleeper probably not a good fit, you can hear every foot step above from the upstairs unit. The room had an awful musty smell but we got used to it lol. The AC didn’t cool down the bedroom but they had two fans that helped.
Also they need better closing shutters in the bedroom as the lights come through and light up the room, there was no way of turning the lights off they automatically come on at night. Over all we would stay again but opt for a different unit in hopes that they had a better couch & shutters in the bedroom, it would be ok if you’re only staying a few days but we stayed a week and wanted something more comfortable.
