Great property management group as very easy to work with. Breath of fresh air. The property had everything you need for a great stay. We had fun. This is nitpicking and my only suggestion and I let the property managers know but I would add glass Tupperware and replace little one time use plastic shampoos and lotions w refillable containers. Easy to get into town and get to each river on either side of bay. Loved the bicycles provided and all the beach toys, like boogie boards. No A/C, but the location and waterfall views make up for it. Ocean is farther than it looks in pictures, but home is beach front, as just a grass park area between you and the sand. Enjoyed feeding the birds and paddle-boarding the bay and rivers. Garden is lush with awapuhi, plumeria and star fruit.

I can't say enough about Oceanfront Realty International they went above and beyond to accommodate us with any issue we had. This property is well stocked with anything we needed, clean and well maintained. Loved having the bikes and all the beach stuff. We did go on a great Holo holo boat charter that was on other side of island, which with road closure to Hanalei made it a bit challenging but we love Hanalei so we tried to stay put most of the time. This is a great property for a family vacation.

Our extended family had a wonderful time. The location is perfect -- just steps away from the beach. Sitting on the lanai you can see the beach, the ocean, and the green, waterfall-festooned mountains. There are beach chairs, beach towels, and an umbrella available along with fins, a cooler and more to make beach play fun. Guest should be prepared for very warm bedrooms at night. I would suggest that the management supply stronger fans. Other than that, everything was amazing. We loved it.

We really enjoyed our stay here, just a bike ride to town. Great beach access, just steps away. Everything you need in the house and very clean. My only complaint was that the house is so cute, but it was screaming for a facelift. Seemed a bit sad with the dated cabinets, hardware and furniture. Being a design lover, I kept imagining how a little reno would make it even more awesome!
It was really nice have boogie boards and beach chairs to use! And the bikes were a great touch! Heads up if you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise you are right next to a popular beach parking lot and the lifeguard station, so you get some car noise and lifeguards on megaphone, but the landscaping hides any view of that. This house was unanimously the best part of our trip to Kauai. Staying right on Hanalei Bay was delightful, and the house has an authentically Hawaiian feel to it. The good: Strolls to the beach with a cup of coffee in the morning, dinners on the most excellent patio while watching the sun set over the water, strolls on the beach at night. No hassle to play on the beach all day. The patio has two picture-postcard views: ocean to one side, mountains to the other. House and cottage were spacious and clean, with very soft towels. The large beds were very comfortable (twin beds were like rocks though). Sweet gecko chirps everywhere. The outdoor shower was fabulous...we used it a lot!!! Property management was super responsive and friendly. The bad (but not dealbreakers): No A/C so it was hot inside the house during the day; it cooled off at night though. Loads of mosquitoes hampered most nighttime activities on the patio. Kitchen needs new sauté pans and knives, so bring your own if you like to cook. Noise and traffic on the adjacent beach access parking was annoying (but not as bad as I'd thought: the occasional extended late-night conversations between beachgoers standing right outside the windows was the worst of it).We would definitely stay here again, but only after the area recovers a bit more from the floods last spring. Kuhio Highway is still closed to all but local and emergency traffic...sadly, there was no driving the lovely road to Ke'e beach. The flooding also resulted in a dearth of fresh local fish...our favorite fish market (the Dolphin in Hanalei) is closed indefinitely, and the one in Kilauea has only a tiny selection.

Everyone had the best time! We cooked together, laughed, played games, had long leisurely breakfasts and relaxed. The runners in the group ran in paradise, some of the gang surfed. We all enjoyed the primo location. Thank you for providing the beach stuff! Everyone arrived with laptops, earbuds... totally wired for work. When it was time to head home, everyone had achieved the ‘Aloha’ state of mind!

This was a perfect spot for anybody utilizing the harbor, needing to be near Lihue, or wanting easy access to both the Southeast part of the island and the Coconut Coast. It gets hot - but cool enough wth fans and windows open on even the hot days. The rental company was great about any issues that came up: quick and responsive. We had a relaxing time and were able to park, cook, sleep and enjoy the area in secure comfort.

House was really beautiful and located right on beach. Loved the porch! Spent all my time at house on porch. Easy walk to town. Felt very secluded with exception of a few beach issues. Two drugged/drunk people in middle of night screaming their heads off. Called police on one to return her to nearby condo-she was in bad shape. The other incident drunk guy left with friend. I guess that's part of the ideal location. Loved the north shore. Loved outdoor shower. The landscaping was amazing on house. We had a family reunion here with all ages. Half of group stayed over in Princeville, so it was convenient. Would stay again. Thanks for water play equipment. We left an extra boogie board and sand toys for others to use. We miss this home already. Thank you for sharing!

This was the second time our family from Telluride stayed at Nane Nane Hale. The location cannot be beat, one can walk right out to the beach. The house is well stocked with towels, beach chairs, and snorkeling gear. A couple of our beach chairs were broken, and the management company brought new chairs over immediately. The front yard is a great place to keep your surfboards! The unit also has a cottage. Note that we could not get internet access in the cottage, only in the main house. It was not a big deal. We were so happy to be able to be so close to the beach. There are not a lot of houses directly on the beach that can be rented. This is one of them. The house is comfortable with everything you need, not over-the-top fancy, just perfect for a laid back beach vacation. We will be back. We had an amazing vacation here.

We come all the way from Norway, so we long for a comfortable and well-functioning place to relax and unwind after our long journey. This was our fourth visit to Hanalei and our second stay in Nani Nani Hale. It's the perfect house in the perfect location for a perfect vacation. Highly recommended. We can't wait to come back!

Fantastic location

Fantastic location

Our group consisted of myself and wife, son (14), daughter (11), and mother (80). Unless you plan on travelling to the South or West side of Kauai, the location can't be beat. The beach is less than a 100 steps from the lanai through the yard and "park". You are right next to 2 beach volleyball courts (never any wait to use them), the lifeguard station, and shower and bathrooms (although you won't need them with the house so close). The beds were very comfortable. Plenty of table space (2 in the house and 1 on the lanai). The couch and chairs in the TV area could be more comfortable, but okay. The kitchen is pretty sufficient (enough placeware for a huge party if so inclined!). The bathrooms are good-sized and the water pressure is great. The showers are tight, even for thin people. The landscaping in the yard is beautiful. There are plenty of linens (beach and bath towels), games, books, etc. Also have several surfboards, volleyballs, footballs, beach pails for little kids, great beach chairs. Had 5 boogie boards, but 3 didn't have lanyards (and one of them was broken). Of the 2 with lanyards, 1 was pretty beat-up. Nice having the washer and dryer. About a ten minute walk to Ching Young Village or ten minute drive to Princeville Shopping Center. Minor Suggestions: Need a new wine bottle opener (the one there doesn't work), newer/useable boogie boards, sugar (plenty of other spices, salt, etc., but no sugar), a photo album of plants/trees in the yard with their names, a guest book for writing in and leaving suggestions (this is the first house we've rented that didn't have one). If you're a light sleeper (or even if you aren't) you may want to bring some ear plugs as the house comes with a resident rooster in the yard (they're actually everywhere on Kauai) that likes to crow with the other neighborhood roosters starting around 5 in the morning; sometimes at 1 in the morning! Also with the house next to a lane leading to a small beach parking area, cars coming in very early in the morning (5 or 6am) to surf may wake you up as the windows are open (no A/C in the house, but plenty of fans, so you don't really need it). Overall, we would definitely stay here again as the location and beauty of the house, beach, bay, town, people can't be beat!

I have been to Kauai 10x in the past 15 years. We have stayed in homes from Poipu to Kapaa all the way to Haena on Tunnels, For sure we have our favorites-----some of which have tripled or quadrupled in rent. Nani Nani is hands down, no contest, OUR ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!! If you have been to Kauai but never stayed ON Hanalei Bay-----in my opinion you are missing out on THE BEST LOCALE in ALL the ISLANDS. There are other houses for rent on the Bay------but you will most often pay MORE for a less desirable home----we were just there, and we always scout it out for future trips, as well as scouring the internet. Every review you read is true and more.....there are no regrets when you book Nani Nani Hale-----just peace of mind and sheer bliss. The only reason I wrote this review is because I now consider the owner Linda and her family dear friends.......so the secret is out there!! I just need to remember to book a year in advance!! Our family of 7 adults easily fit into this house with room to spare. Most of the 'downtime' was spent playing cards on the covered linai. Being right on the beach was excellent for all beach activities. The grill uses briquettes, which took some getting used to, we thought a propane or gas grill would be nice. The outdoor shower off the master bedroom was amazing. The pictures and description are accurate, house was clean. Location is generally pretty quiet considering it is next to a parking lot for the beach. We liked being close to the market and had a great breakfast at "'Eggberts". There are three bikes there but only one was in riding condition. Would definitely recommend this place.

This was an excellent place to stay, roomy and comfortable. Very close to the beach and views of the ocean from the house and cottage. Close enough to town to be able to walk for getting a meal, shopping, or going to the open market. The boogie boards and beach chairs were very handy. We played frisbee and volleyball on the sand courts at the park. The outside deck is very comfortable. We did make use of the wireless internet. The kitchen is well equipped. The cottage is very nice for privacy with a seating area and quaint bathroom. Small sink but nice big shower. Very light and breezes are available. Clothes line in the back. This is a home in a nice neighborhood next to a park. We visited Princeville St. Regis Resort for a sunset drink; this is a luxurious resort.

It has been a privilege for our family to stay in this wonderful home right on gorgeous Hanalei Bay three times for around 10 days each. With 4 children, my wife and I spent many months looking for a vacation house that would add something to our children s Hawaiian adventure. This "home" has never disappointed. It is tastefully decorated yet highly functional for families with children. It has what I consider to be a true "island beach home" feel. The kitchen is more than equipped to handle preparing tasteful island style meals or a quick, simple breakfasts and snacks. The bedrooms were enough to give children and parents alike a little break from each other, while an Aunt and Uncle who came along one year enjoyed the use of the guest house. With two baths (3 if you count the guest house), cleaning up after a day at the beach is no problem for everyone. The outdoor (yet private) shower is nice to either remove beach sand or clean up after a morning of a quiet contemplative walk along Hanalei Bay, literally a 30 second stroll out the door.The groomed yard is large and private, allowing for Frisbee, a game of catch or a relaxing beverage while you sit back and gaze at the myriad of greens that preside majestically over Hanalei Bay. A washer, dryer, kitchen equipment, games, barbecue, on and on, all ready to enjoy are available to help keep the costs of vacation "extras" to minimum. We have such fantastic memories of sitting on the covered lanai by tiki light, listening to the waves roll onto the beach as the wildlife sounds of a Hanalei evening take over the night, and, as a family, we begin to talk, laugh, smile and connect. . The best part for me was placing my head on my pillow, a father who had enjoyed such a great time with his family that day, closing my eyes and being lulled to sleep by the sounds of the ocean, the smells of the islands drifting around me, my wife relaxed and enjoying a great book as my children collapsed from a day of fun. To have had the privilege to stay in this home has been incredible. Someday soon we shall return, and with the oldest in college and the younger ones now tenagers and ready for new adventures, they have already decided that there is only one home Mom and Dad may rent.
