an apartment in a Ligurian carruggio is a must-have experience!

The location is excellent. Close to everything. Grocery stores, pharmacy, bakery...you name it! I stayed with my 2 kids and the house cannot possibly host more than 3 people! The washing machine is a very big help and it worked wonderfully. The fridge is adequate but the freezer is a little small. The bathroom always has hot water. Water pressure in the shower was always excellent. The air conditioning is fantastic. The house is fresh enough per se, but it can be very hot in the afternoons.

As mentioned in other reviews, there is no wi-fi; which is a shame especially because the phone signal is extremely poor. It is an ancient building (the owner told us 1700) and it has very thick walls. It can add to the charm, of course, but a better connection would be a huge improvement. There is a bit of a humidity issue, so (the bedroom especially) it can have a strong odor from time to time. Another issue is the staircase leading to the apartment (1st floor): it is very narrow and very steep, which can be a problem if one has reduced mobility or a pram. There are a few bars and restaurants directly below the apartment, so it can be a little noisy in the evenings, but never too late. And it was only perceivable from the living room, not the bedroom. Closing windows and blinds helped a lot!
