Trail Runner’s Retreat is a lovely, recently rejuvenated, townhome in the quiet, convenient and easily accessed Woods End neighborhood. It’s a short, easy walk or a trail runner’s dream path, to Canaan Valley’s National Wildlife Refuge where wildlife and running (or walking) trails abound. No worries, you don’t need to run anything to appreciate all the comforts this home has to offer. Enjoy WIFI, multiple TV’s, a charming fireplace, and well-equipped kitchen. Stargazing from the outdoor hot tub might very well become your favorite activity, even if you are a true trail runner. Your well-behaved 4-legged friend is welcome with a small pet fee (dogs only please). You are going to love this place…so run-or walk-on over!

An amazing property with truly impressive decorative touches, thoughtfulness, and all the amenities one would need. Unlike previous stays, the carpets were not as clean as before, but that may be because when we vacuumed before departure, the vacuum was not working properly. Will still come again!

Trail Runner's Retreat was perfect for our family get-away. The rental goes above and beyond in the'dog-friendly' category. The hot tub was great after long days on the trails even on cold nights. The kitchen is well-equipped and the provided coffee was an unexpected but appreciated perk!The home is in a great location to enjoy walks on the forest roads and the trails without getting in the car.Loved that it had a mud room and laundry.This was our second trip to the area and we returned to some favorites... Douglas Falls, Black Water Falls, Bear Rocks Preserve, Moon Rocks and they did not disappoint. We also hiked to view Lion's Head in Dolly Sods, Red Runs Falls, Kennedy Falls, and visited Bald Knob, Seneca Rocks and more.We enjoyed meals from Riverfront Wood-Fired Pizza, Canaan BBQ, and especially Sirianni's and enjoyed a couple of pints at Stumptown Ales and Mountain State Brewing as well as pastries from Tip Top.If we return to the area in the future, we would hope to book Trail Runner's Retreat again!
