I booked through *** and I had to shift a day later to check in but booking.com was not flexible and I called the hotel a few weeks before but they gave me the run around because the booking was non refundable. They were not flexible and I learned that it's typical for Japanese businesses to ignore your problem. Of course when i was there they told me I should have informed them earlier. They said they don't have any record of me contacting them. I figure, forget the sweat since it was a nonrefundable booking.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Oakwood for 5 nights. This was not our first trip to Tokyo but our first stay in a busy “touristy” area such as Shinjuku. We normally travel with our child and the Oakwood (our suite at least) would not have been comfortable to include our teen. It had plenty of room for 2 people and the kitchenette and laundry were very useful. There is a small grocery store across from the Oakwood. The area was surprisingly quiet and well situated to avoid Shinjuku station, mostly by taking the M line. There are plenty of great restaurants and shopping steps away. If you have a large amount of luggage, just take a taxi to one of the airport limousine pickup/dropoff locations and avoid Shinjuku. Many of the people we met staying at the Oakwood appeared to be business travellers. Our room had a coffee table, small sofa and a chair but no desk. However, there is a cafe downstairs that you could use if you needed more work space. We would stay again, as a couple.

Great place to stay, it's near the main shinjuku shopping street. 10 mins walk to JR Shinjuku station. Small AEON supermarket is just a few steps away.
