The location was great and the staff and food was excellent
Room wasn’t exactly what we were expecting, dead flies were on the floor- seemed a bit dirty

Location, tour to Mountain was perfect
no airconditioner, lizards inside, but this was accepted, no local restaurants, went to shop but was very disappointed when saw flies inside packed bread, from then couldnt eat sandwich or toast in Bali :D

Beautiful location. It feels cooler in the evening here (in a valley area) and was not humid overnight in mid October so a fan was enough to keep the room cool.
Very very comfortable bed - we felt well rested even getting up at 3 am for our Mt Batur hike (our leaving point was only 400m away which was a small walk).
We stayed in a spacious room overlooking the shared pool. The pool is shallow (and not heated) but perfect for sitting and cooling off in. The included breakfast was a small simple menu.
The property is set back from the road so we did not hear the trucks and motorbikes which was helpful for getting an early night before hiking. There are some chickens nearby which you can occasionally hear.
Note it is in an agricultural area using compost so there are flies around during the day.

Stunning view of Mount Abang from my terrace, bungalow in the midst of cabbage and onion fields, away from tourist turbulences, quiet and peaceful, very friendly staff and helpful owner. Furniture a bit outdated but I could live with that. The Villas with private outside plunge pool seem to be more modern inside and recommendable.

Great stay before our Mount Batur tour.
Perfect location (5 minutes walking to the tour starting point), stunning views, and a very helpful host, Jero. He drove us to the hot springs, and arranged a driver with great stops on the way to Uluwatu.

1. It's 5 mins walk to the Get your guide meeting point for the Mount Batur hike.
2. The staff was really nice. The location is super remote and I didn't have a motorbike but the staff kindly took me to the restaurants/shops by bike.
It's very remote and not walkable. Quite scary for a solo traveller to go anywhere especially after dark
The room was dark and damp and had bugs in it. Very outdated. I didn't feel good and cut the trip short and changed to a different location.

Very quiet and tranquil. Very close to mt Batur. The staffs are nice and accommodating. They also have the sunrise tour which is a very scenic and instagrammable activity
There are a lot of flies.

.
The roof of the room is not completely closed. And the sound of the car passing by was loud inside the room.

Great little place if you’re going on the jeep or ATV safari and don’t want the long transfer time. We stayed here for one night and ended up staying the day too, as we had booked the sunset jeep tour. We wanted to relax until the afternoon, but was approached by the owner with an offer to take us on a tour to go to see a nearby temple and coffee plantation which was great. The breakfast was good and the personnel was kind.
Unfortunately for some reason there were so many flies at this location. We opened the door to “wake up with a view” and within minutes we had an entire colony of flies in the room. We couldn’t eat our breakfast without swadding away flies. Hopefully this will clear up at some point. Also FYI the pool is a shallow and you can only sit in it. Overall, good value for the money.

It was close to mount batur and was clean and had nice views :)
Nothing.

We got welcome coffee and fried banana. It was really nice.
Really good location to climb Mount Batur, the starting lounge is just a few minutes walk from here.
It wasn’t as clean as our other accomodations with the same price. The swimming pool was dirty, so we couldn’t use it.

staff are very nice, the location is very peaceful, the views are nice and the pool is a great asset
The room referred to as “tent” is not worth booking. the bathroom smells horrible, the bed is not a double bed (as advertised) rather two mattress pushed together with a big space in between. the mattress themselves are also extremely uncomfortable.
I would stay in the cottages if I return, but the “tent” needs to be improved greatly.
breakfast could also be improved as it is very simple (literally a fried egg in between two pieces of white bread)

super nice host. helped us to organize a taxi. also check out his tour to hike Mount Batur when staying here.
nothing against the property, but just be aware there is a plague of flies in the entire village due to live stock close by

I have never experienced such a great hospitality ever before. Jro (the owner) immediatly got in touch with us when we arrived and organized everything concerning the volcano sunrise trip and visting the hot springs. He drove us around his village and picked us up with his hat whenever we needed him (all for free). We came to you Jro as guests but we left as friends… Thanks again for this great experience at your place. If you are looking for a sunrise Trip to the volcano Mount Batur this is a absolutely must stay! All the best from Germany my friend!

If you wish to stay for a night and do the sunset hike on foot, this is a palce for you as you are not going to sleep anyway and the place is close. It is rural and different to postcard Bali, plus local people are super nice
More of a shack with trashy dirty interior and mattresses, flies and bad moldy smell, plus the insect poison. My partner got super big allegic reaction. I understand that this is off the tourist track but still - remids me the worst backpacking duns of my youth. Even this little money not worth the discomfort or at least be prepared that Booking reviews here do not match up. The tents are better and of reasonable value perhaps. The rooms - no!

Nice bungalow! Great area at the start of mount Batur.
Lot of flies. We planned to stay here so we could do the sunrise hike to mount Batur. We have been told that we needed a guide (rules of the gouvernement). No proof of that's true. As experienced hikers we felt cheated as we wanted to hike by ourselves.
Friendly advice from the owner though.

Very safe place to be. Great location and a nice pool. Good Internet. Close to Mt Batur. Nice friendly staff. Good nature around. The owner is a good man who always helps you with any enquiries. You can find local warungs around with great cheap Balinese food. Beautiful place to be with lovely people.
Too many flies around. We had a big grey mouse in Bungalow 1. It was a little bit uncomfortable to see it every night running on a floor and making noise. We left the lights on all nights. Also noise from the road from 2 a.m. , but earplugs helped).

One of our best stays in Bali. The landscape is beautiful, the bungalows are really comfortable and the breakfast is good. The staff was really friendly and helped us with organizing transportation, getting a scooter. Highly recommended!

The property was very private and it had all amenities (pool, loungers, fire pit, music area, various seating areas etc). It felt very private. The staff were very friendly and helped us with our bags, gave a welcome drink and the fried banana was lovely!
There was a lot of noise late at night (bikes going past, dogs barking, fireworks set off) and the fan in my room was very noisy too so I struggled to get to sleep. There were very noisy people having a conversation outside at around 4am.

The staff was so kind and the location is perfect if you want to hike the mount batur. The owner is a local guide. You can hike with him if you want. The view from the pool and from every bungalow is amazing. At our arrival, we received a welcome drink and delicious fried bananas. You can even have dinner there (there are not a lot of warungs in the area so it's quite easier) for a very cheap price. Thank you so much Bukit Catu for the amazing experience, we'll defenitively come back.
There are a lot of flies in the area, so it's quite difficult to relax at the pool without having a group of flies on your body. But it's the same in the whole area.
