About this villa rental

The Taj Majahual, a private luxury residence, is situated in one of the world’s most unspoiled beach locations on México’s beautiful Yucatán Peninsula in the eastern state of Quintana Roo.

This is an ECO residence, using, solar and generator. The property is not subject to the "on grid" power outages that are frequent in the area. Luxurious rainwater is collected for the water supply, including filtered drinking water.

It is located in the intimate community of Placer, where sky and sea merge, and soft creamy sand is kissed by the ebb of sparkling clear aqua-colored water. This romantically remote residence caters to those who wish to ‘hammock’ and beachcomb their days in paradise.

For those who seek an active agenda, a world-class coral reef is located very close to shore, and the Taj Majahual is 20 minutes from Mahahual, and Cancún is a 4-hour drive. Both offer a myriad of maritime and tropical adventures, as well as shopping, dining, and sight-seeing

If you are looking for a sort of off the grid/luxury experience this is the place for you. The property has a caretaker on staff who is AMAZING. The property is feet from the ocean and the owners provide everything you could possibly need during your stay. Again, if you are looking to really get away in luxury this property is worth the trek!!

We spent our 25th Anniversary at Taj Mah. and it was just what we were looking for. It was very private, our own private beach. During our stay we were the only two guests so it felt as if we had the entire home. We stayed in the Sultan Suite and it was decorated very nice, not with cheap items but very nice items most made from the area. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we could possibly use. The home is also very wonderful for unique photo shoots of any kind due to the privacy and the decor and arrangement of the home. I did several photo shoots for which I had brought costumes for. Plan to take your food and drinks and necessities with you as it is a long way to town. We rented a car and I would recommend that as we drove from the Cancun airport and once we arrived we were able to drive anywhere we wanted to go allowing us to drive the beach road from one end to another (took 2 days to do). There are alot of areas to pull off and swim, picnic or take pictures. Thank you Gabriel for being a wonderful host!

We have just returned to snow and cold after a week in the paradise of Taj Majahual and the Costa Maya. We decided to pull out all the stops for our 50th wedding anniversary and took our children and grandchildren on the trip of a lifetime. Gabe’s Taj Majahual was the perfect spot! We had plenty of room for all three families—and in luxury accommodations. The beach, the silken sand, the deliciously warm water, and the sunrises! What more could one dream of? Well, to top it off, the most beautiful setting. The house, with its gorgeous tiles and mosaics, is breathtaking. With porches all around, we had delightful breezes to cool us. The grandchildren frolicked on the Caribbean shore and in the sea—and so did we all (for me, it was the first time I’d set foot in the sea for over 50 years!), and afterwards, they swam in the darling 13’ wide plunge pool, which was just large enough for the three of them. In fact, the two smallest ones gained enough confidence there to stick their heads into the water and start swimming instead of dog-paddling. They delighted in resting in the hammocks provided. The kitchen is very well-equipped (and very prettily done, again in talavera tiles), and we fixed all but one of our meals there. It was fun buying our food from the “grocery truck” that comes on Thursday and Sunday (the kids were about to run screaming from the kitchen when they found that our 2 half-chickens came with heads and feet!—good learning experience). We were very sad to leave. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful home, Gabe and Cindy.
