a welcoming, home from home, would stay again

The chalet is lovely, it's in a really good location, right in the middle of La Chapelle-d'Abondance, it has parking behind in the courtyard and it's just off the main route through the village. We were advised close to our check-in time that the heating had had an issue, there were some radiators left for us, but we had an 11 month old baby and we needed more (the host's sister dropped off more on the next day) and the heating was fixed on the first day the plumber was available. The host even came over to apologise and he helped me jump start my car (the temperature went down to -10). It's a lovely chalet, it might need a little modernising, but you're not really there for the chalet, more the mountains, skiing/snowboarding. I would have no hesitation to come back and stay here again.

we were only given one bag of firewood, i think that there should be a shed full of firewood in the courtyard (lots of other chalets have lots of firewood outside) also there was a big space between the kitchen and the table, a seating area with some arm chairs could fill this area in - two very minor dislikes.

Lovely chalet - great value

The sitting and dining area were particularly spacious. There was a large balcony at the back which got the sun and the view there was spectacular. The kitchen area was big and very well stocked with crockery, utensils etc. Beds were very comfortable and 2 beautiful bathrooms with walk-in showers. The village has some eating places and a few shops including a lovely bakery/patisserie where you can sit and have something to eat and drink. Would definitely return.

It's on the main road through the village so if you're sleeping in a front bedroom there's some traffic noise in the morning but it's not a big issue. Not much hanging space for clothes in our upstairs bedroom.

Great location, super house

The location is great for hiking and walking. I suppose it is also good for skiing in winter as there were lifts very close to the house. The check-in was super easy, the instructions were clear and the online welcome guide with suggestions of restaurants and activities was a great bonus. The house itself corresponds to the description, it is very well arranged, and will easily fit 8 people - besides having 8 beds, the dining table and the couch are huge.

The only slightly annoying thing was the entrance door - it took a great effort to lock it. I was scared every time that we might break either the lock or the handle.

We had an absolutely fantastic family holiday, and this chalet played a massive part.

Great hosts - we originally booked this trip for March 2024, but had to re-schedule due to a medical incident. Hosts were so helpful to amend booking to February 2025. Fantastic location and very clean upon arrival.

We had a lovely time here and would definitely stay again.

The host was very responsive and helpful. The chalet was roomy, comfortable and clean with private parking. We drove to Chatel for skiing (15 minute drive) and parking there is easy and convenient if you get there before 9.30am. If you are later then there will probably be a short walk in your ski boots. There are closer lifts but Chatel is where most ski schools meet and there is a larger skiing area there.

Bin bags would have been a helpful addition.

Accomodation was newly refurbished and everything was excellent. Good amount of space, well kitted out and furnished. Lovely views from terrace. Hosts very responsive and available.

Het geluidsniveau van de ventilator was veel te hoog en storend voor de aangrenzende slaapkamer. Tevens ontbreekt een ski-droogkamer.

Aussicht von der Terrasse. Gute Ausstattung. Genügend WC und Badezimmer.

Heerlijk

Het is ruim, comfortabel. Voor groepen tot 8 personen heb je veel voorzieningen, met 4 slaapkamers, 3 badkamers en 2 aparte toiletten. Daarnaast een grote keuken en leefruimte. Parkeren op het terrein en veel mogelijkheden voor skiën in portes du soleil.

Perfektes Haus für Urlaub in den Bergen

Sehr schönes Haus, es ist super ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Es ist gemütlich und modern eingerichtet, mit Blick auf die Berge. Alles war genauso wie in der Beschreibung. Direkt neben dem Haus fährt ein Skibus nach Portes du Soleil. Supermarkt und Bäcker sind in Fußreichweite.

Ein Skischuhtrockner wäre noch perfekt gewesen.
