About this house rental
SKI.. 15 minutes from Roundtop Mountain Resort.
Looking for an open floor plan house where everyone, as many as 12 guests can sit together and visit in one room and then all sit at a large table for dinner? Also, are you looking for a house that is a guest house and not a house the owners have to move out of for the time you want to rent? Well, you have found it! MAISON SAB is a GUEST HOUSE, not our residence, and it has almost 4700 sq, square feet of space with an oversized living room conversation area, a sunroom overlooking a huge backyard and there is even a small stream.
In addition to the main living room and sunroom, there is a den and a large rec room. It has FIVE SPACIOUS BEDROOMS and FIVE FULL BATHS. There are TEN BEDS (1 king, 3 queens, 4 fulls and 2 trundles). There are no bunk beds. It is one of the largest rentals in the area and it certainly has more full baths than any of the competition.
There are four bedrooms on the upper level, one on the 1st level, and NONE in the basement or attic although we do have a basement and an attic, we don't think people should sleep there. The house sleeps 12 and there are 10 separate beds: The two master suites have a king and a queen bed respectively and ensuite baths.
It is located 5 minutes from Route 15, is 15 minutes from Ski Roundtop, and is located, less than a 1/2 hour from Gettysburg, Carlisle, Harrisburg, Hershey, and the Farm Show Complex. PA Dutch Country is 45 minutes away. It is close to Messiah College, Dickenson College, Carlisle, and Pinchot National Park.
There is a large deck for you to enjoy in warm months and it has a glider, chairs, cocktail table, a dining table, and a propane grill. In addition, we have a propane fire pit table on the deck to warm you on cool autumn nights. If you prefer to stay inside, you can gather near the propane fireplace.
In the open kitchen, you will find everything you need to make a gourmet meal (the Giant is 5 minutes away) including china for a fancy meal or use the everyday dinnerware or the outdoor place settings. Our large dining table is surrounded by 10 chairs and there is additional seating with our dining benches.
We have stayed in short-term rentals before and we have been very disappointed in the lack of small things like matching towels, glasses/china, and nice cotton sheets. In this house, you will find everything as you would have it in your own home.
However, you WILL NOT find our clothes in the closets, knick-knacks from past vacations to the shore, or the like. This is NOT our home.
It is a vacation rental. About 99 percent of the furnishings including furniture, linens, towels, dishes, cookware, etc. were bought for the house when we started hosting and things are being replaced on an as-needed basis. We love the clean, uncluttered look of Maison SAB and we think you'll appreciate not feeling like you are intruding in someone else's home.
Take your coffee in the sunroom and watch the birds in the large yard. Off that room is the deck with lots of seating, a dining table, a propane grill, and a beautiful view of the backyard. At the end of the big yard, there is a stream that is small enough to jump across but big enough to float a toy boat or just listen to the swoosh of the water passing by. The house is in a suburban location of other similar large homes in a quiet neighborhood.
The lower level has a bar with bar stools, a sectional, a full-size regulation pool table, foosball, and a large 60-inch TV.
Maison SAB may seem like an oasis but it is only five minutes off Route 15. Enjoy the many sites and events in Dillsburg and the surrounding area including HERSHEY, Ski Roundtop, the Harrisburg Farm Show, various Car Shows in Carlisle, and historic sites of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania's Capital. Going south, in about 1/2 hour, you are in Gettysburg where you won't want to miss the battlefield and many historic sites. Still, in the other, direction 1/2 hour, you can spend a day at Hershey Park or you can be in Pennsylvania Dutch Country if you travel just a little farther. You can visit any of these sites and be home for dinner. The house is less than 30 minutes from Harrisburg International Airport.
If you are a skier, snowboarder, or want to go tubing, Roundtop Mountain Resort is only 15 minutes away and they have activities in the winter for kids and adults. If you are a beginner or advanced, they have just about any kind of lesson you may want to take.
In 10 minutes you can be playing golf on a well-maintained public golf course complete with bar/restaurant,

and the house is around the corner from Haar's famous auction house and drive-in theatre. The drive-in is open in good weather.
There are also wineries in the area and a few are listed below but many more can be sourced on the internet. Many of them not only have wine tastings but also have entertainment.

Another attraction is Gifford Pinchot State Park, a 2,338-acre full-service park, is in Northern York County along PA 177 between the towns of Rossville and Lewisberry. The park consists of reverting farm fields and wooded hillsides with the 340-acre Pinchot Lake serving as a prime attraction. Swimming, fishing, boat rentals.

We rented this home for our son's wedding. It was the perfect size and location to everything we needed. Quiet neighborhood, beautiful property, and plenty of space. Would recommend this property anytime.

We rented this house for our family vacation to Hershey Park. It was only a 45 minute drive each day to the park, and was reasonably priced. The home is beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. Our kids loved the foosball table in the basement, and our teens enjoyed the pool table for hours. The hosts were communicative and easy to reach. The only thing that overshadowed our stay were plumbing issues. They left instructions about cold and hot directions on the shower faucets being reversed, but it was still not intuitive to get hot water working. (There was hot water, but kids and teens kept struggling with the reversal). The jetted garden tub was “out of order” and could not be used.Overall, we had a great vacation and we’re grateful for the opportunity to have stayed in this beautiful home. Once the plumbing issues are addressed, it will be a five-star property.

I reserved the house to accommodate a number of out of town family members who were in town to celebrate my son’s graduation. I wanted a place that was large enough to accommodate them with their own bedrooms/bath, while also providing large communal space for dinners, conversations, etc. The house met those purposes and definitely lived up to our expectations. Everything we needed was on site down to the smallest amenities. The hosts were very helpful, accommodating and responsive through the whole process. I would not hesitate to rent this house again. If you’re looking for a house in central PA for a similar purpose as mine, this is the place
