Scam !!!

My friends and I booked this property to celebrate a birthday. Upon booking the hosts sent a confirmation email asking for a £200 deposit. There were no details in the email on how to pay this deposit so I had emailed back, messaged back on the booking.com app and tried to call them the 24 hours before we arrived. We had no response. We get to the property in the hope of maybe the hosts meeting us there (despite no response they had accepted our check in time request on the day of arrival so they had been ignoring the other messages). There is no one at the property, and a lock box to the apartment which we have no code for. All of us tried to phone the number, we sent multiple emails and no response. We waited 4/5 hours before we had to drive home again. We drove 2 hours for this trip, and still do this day (1 week later) we are yet to have any contact from the hosts. I contacted booking.com and their policy is that they cannot refund until the company / hosts confirm in writing that they are closed down (even though their number is now disconnected). This policy is ridiculous and now we’re are £200 out of pocket for a stay that we didn’t even get in the first place. This company is a SCAM!!! They take your money, you can’t get into the apartment and then because they won’t reply to booking.com customer service, they get away with keeping the money!!! Avoid avoid avoid. Please don’t make the same mistake as we did.

I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again provided access was sorted

The property is very clean and comfortable. It is centrally located and close to all amenities and attractions and a five minute walk to the beach. It was well heated and all we needed was there.

When we arrived it was very wet and the keypad at the front door wouldn’t work. Eventually someone came to the door on their way out and told us they had the same problem gaining access. They had used a back door to gain access which we had to then do each time we wanted into the premises.

Amazing location close to shops, restaurants, train station and rides. Great apartment, good size rooms, lots of kitchen appliances and crockery and utensils. Comfy beds. Everything we needed. Super views of the beach and waves rolling in.

Lovely clean apartment. With plenty of space. 2 minute walk from the town centre, with a beautiful view of the sea. Even in a storm, it was lovely to watch with a cuppa tea!

Nothing, it was all good. If I were to say anything, I would just have loved a hoover.. kids can be messy.

Bedrooms are too light one has a roof light with no cover at all. Bedrooms are small with no storage and beds small and not very comfortable. Had to turn on hot water and then wait an hour to use it. Issue with cleanliness which was not resolved satisfactorily made stay unpleasant.

Skylights in bedroom and living room with no blinds or curtains made it impossible to sleep for more than a few hours except in the bedroom without the skylight. Beware that there is a £200 deposit payable on top of price so not for people on a low budget. Otherwise all good

Amazing apartment my son and family enjoyed staying here!

Great apartment for families there is fantastic space and views where spectacular, we where walking distance from restaurants, shops, most importantly curry’s and the skate boarding park, where my 7 year old brought his skateboard and scooter. This accomodation is highly recommended was clean, temperature was perfect. I was amazed by the utensils that the hosts have provided you had everything that is required. Stayed in many hotels and apartments around Portrush, this was my first time staying here and I would highly recommend this accomodation. Fantastic will be a returning customer thank you

Directions for locating [in the dark] need to be revised. Location good for the area attractions.

The kitchen and living room were nice. But a coffee table is needed.

Directions to find the place were inaccurate (the door is NOT lavender as described in check-in info--photo attached--which makes me think the owners don't pay much attention or haven't been there in awhile--unless someone else randomly painted the door green 🙄) and there are no house numbers, so arriving in the dark trying to locate the place was a little annoying. Apt was on 2nd floor--didn't recall that being mentioned. I generally avoid places with stairs and no lifts. Mattress in bedroom near kitchen is very squishy/needs replaced. Weird hot water availability -- couldn't read the info on the "boost" switch which was under the shelf crammed next to the washer, so just guessed and pushed it until 3 lights came on so that there was hopefully hot water for the shower-- that worked but again, better descriptions would be more helpful. Heating was not adjustable (on allocation-that was not explained, other than apparently you have no way to adjust it yourself) and the only radiator in the place that seemed to be heating, randomly at random times, was in the hallway--waste of energy to heat the hallway vs any of the bedrooms or the kitchen/LR area where people actually hang out. Had the hot water and heating been mentioned ahead of time, I'd have picked a different location. But they weren't, and this was a rare nonrefundable accommodation, even though I booked 10 mos in advance. And had the location been obvious and labeled for finding in the dark, that would have been helpful, too. It would also be a really good idea add a non-slip rubber mat for the bathtub. In general, this is why I stay in hotels-- I don't like surprises or poor directions for access, which is why I say the property met my expectations--good kitchen, location good for my travels, but typical "AirBnB" stuff.

The mattresses in both bedrooms need to be replaced. They are very uncomfortable, resulting in a poor nights sleep. There is no slip mat for the shower. Another soft chair for the living space required for everyone to get a comfortable seat.

The flat was too cold for this time of year heating should have been on More couldn't sleep as I was freezing sink in bathroom water keep taking ages to drain and couldn't see what was pressing to turn water heater on so could get warm water for shower .have to say place was beautiful and spotless but far to cold had booked for friends special. birthday
