About this house rental

NOT SUITABLE FOR SMALL CHILDREN

This house was built by Captain George W. Cook in early 1800s. He was the Captain of a merchant sailing vessel called the Jed F. Duren. a large vessel at 112 tonnes. Materials to build the house were brought in on a barge from Nova Scotia and a crew from Gloucester, Mass built the house. 2 of Captain George W Cook's original navigation maps are mounted in the house. One in the current Captain's Master Bedroom and one in the living room. This house is really cool and the water and sunset views are amazing!!

This house is not child friendly (under 8 years) or for anyone with mobility issues.

This century home that has been refurbished over the years to today's standard of comfort and safety. It is all quite original inside and has a calm and inviting personality. It is now owned by a Captain Parker - a local lobster fisherman.

The Captain's House set on the water front surrounded by a working, fishing village. Everybody on the island is very friendly, and tame deer run through the yard. It is a restful, and peaceful location, with chances of glimpsing seals, and whales. We really loved the sense of history on this charming island.

It was a unique place to stay with a lot of deer wandering around the neighbourhood. The kitchen facilities were good. Wi-Fi access was sometimes a problem. Access to the island was a problem because one ferry was out of services for the first three days of our stay and this led to big lineups and long waits. Once the ferry was repaired access was excellent. The Cap Sill restaurant was very nice with good food and friendly staff.

Amazing house, all in super well maintained, very charming. Well equipped with appliances. True island life experience on the water. Perfect base for island hoping as well, lot to do in the area. The host is very accommodating and quick to answer to questions. Oh and lots of deers on Deer Island, lol. Would love to come back again, we really had a very good time.

This is an excellent and attractive place, well appointed, good outdoor spaces, and in a great location on the water. Deer Island and nearby Campobello are simple but appealing and it's not too far to St Andrew's and St George for greater variety of services and sites. The photographs are accurate; the kitchen and bathrooms are well appointed; and the house is surprisingly spacious. We enjoyed our time thoroughly.
