Superb

Superb property in all respects. Clean, comfortable, great facilities, great location for peace and quiet. A little out of the way but the benefits outweigh the drawbacks - really peaceful. Beds very comfortable, en suites excellent. Separate TV lounge upstairs a godsend. Well-equipped kitchen. And a pub 100m away for some good food if you want to eat out. Overall - fantastic place, will be back.

Wonderful family stay at Skye

The house is beautifully decorated and was perfect for our family of 4. There was a bottle of wine on our arrival and Easter treats for the kids which was so thoughtful. We loved exploring Skye both in the Sleat Peninsula as well as driving out to Portree and hiking out there. For us it was great to be in the quieter part of Skye and we had some beautiful sunshine when hiking to the Point of Sleat. Recommend this house without reservation!

Idyllic stay on the Sleat Peninsula.

A modernised cottage. Extremely clean and well equipped with top of the range equipment. Heating and toiletries all included in the price. Perfect for exploring the Sleat Peninsula on Skye. Would come again. Downstairs bedroom and bathroom was perfect for aged parent. Upstairs suite was lovely for a couple. Views over the Sound of Sleat to the Knoydart Peninsula and Mallaig. A perfect stay!

A beautiful little cottage with a potentially big issue

The location was wonderful, instructions on check in and departure were clear and easy to understand. The property itself was very clean and spacious. Overall a very good value.

I have only one complaint, and that is that I noticed there were two Carbon Monoxide meters, and, as we were checking out, we noticed that one of them was registering extremely high. (see picture attached) Had we noticed this sooner, we would have checked out early. If the level of carbon monoxide had truly been at the level the meter said, we would not have lived past an hour there, so I think the meter was off. That said, both my husband and I ended up not going out at all one day because we had headaches and were feeling super tired. When I say we slept all day, I mean we slept ALL DAY! Like, didn’t get out of bed until 4:30 pm that afternoon all day. I wish I had noticed the meter at that time and whether I could say for sure if there was a causal relationship between how we were feeling and the level of carbon monoxide. Honestly, I can’t say for sure, but the fact that there were TWO CO2 meters suggests to me that the property owners are aware of an issue. I wonder if there was some kind of low level carbon monoxide exposure that caused us to stay in that day? It was unusual for us. Nevertheless, I truly hope it was a coincidence we weren’t feeling well during our stay, because, apart from our concern of the CO2 levels, the cottage was actually really nice, and I don’t have any other complaints.

Very good

Beautiful property, stunning views, everything you could think of including surround sound TV and PS4. Great toiletries and bath and 2 showers made it feel more like a hotel than a holiday cottage.

Upstairs bedroom became very noisy during storms at night with all the sky lights. Bed a little soft for me.

We didn't want to leave!

We had a brilliant stay at Tidal cottage. The accomodation is brilliant, incredibly comfortable and really well equipped; the kids loved the PS4 and games up in the little snug and we loved sitting on the deck with a coffee watching the seals. We would have loved to stay longer and will definitely be back.

Great location, amazing cottage, great value, wished we had stayed longer

We wished we had booked longer there. Immaculately and tastefully decorated to a very high spec, this place was a real gem. We loved breakfast on the deck but really it was hard to choose a high point as it was all good. The attention to detail, even the videos on how to work things were so thoughtful

We couldnt work the downstairs TV as one of the controllers wouldnt work. But you dont stay there to watch TV! But thats pretty much it.

The quiet location with such a cozy cottage was a brilliant combination

as we had an adult guest with us, it would have been good if the downstairs bedroom could’ve been converted for just one person with a double bed

The TV in the upstairs snug was only for games and was not connected as a TV

Self catering but everything required was provided. Lovely location right by the waterside. Very peaceful and quiet.

Fantastic stay with great views and a pub next door.

This property is ideal for a family get away. There is a great pub 2 doors up and the atmosphere was good on the Saturday night. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. We had 4 adults staying and there was plenty of space for us all. The two bathrooms and washing facilities made this stay very easy.

We couldn't turn the heating off and it was a little too warn at times but the windows could open wide.

the best holiday house we have ever enjoyed!

super stylish and comfortable, excellent use of space. we would be very happy to live here! Particularly loved the velux windows over the bed, watching the stars overhead whilst in bed! excellent en suite with walk in shower that was NOT a wet room (thank goodness for that!). just brilliantly designed and finished. when we visit our nearby relatives again we will definitely look to book this property.

a perfect holiday except a flooded nightmare!

Comfort, They got everything that you would need even PS4, Games, Great showers!!

Dishwasher was licking, kitchen flooded! Had to mop the floor at the middle of the night. They instructed to use the dishwasher to clean before leaving. But it was messy with the licking dishwasher!!

Luxurious, comfortable and cosy haven during some almighty storms, loved it, wished we could stay longer.

Quality of everything, layout, design, cosy yet luxurious, loved it! Bottle of wine on arrival was a lovely touch.

Unlike some other properties we have visited, the house was exactly as advertised.

Clean, modern, warm and stylish, with homely touches such as books. Hosts kindly left a bottle of wine for our arrival. Did not meet hosts otherwise may have been able to score higher.

Master bed too soft for our liking, but that's a matter of personal choice. Kitchen v small, so not much room to store/prepare food, essential over Christmas period where no hotels/restaurants are open nearby.

Everything! Exceptional bathrooms, exceptional upstairs bedroom.. very much enjoyed the small tv/games room.. where we spent most of the evenings. Very well stocked kitchen, great views, everything you need for a perfect break!

There really wasnt much negativity to report about the place. We encountered an issue with the drier, to which we thought was a good idea to wash clothes after a busy road trip - the owner instantly replaced during our stay which was perfect and even the rooms were supplied with fans as the cottage did get very hot during the night

Heaven by the sea in Skye

It's rare for a holiday home to blow you away but the style, location and comfort of Tidal Cottage did just that. This house was the highlight of two weeks touring Scotland and we would have loved to stay a month.

Never worked out why it has two names - sometimes Tidal Cottage and sometimes Rhu House.

This is a superb cottage, my top tip straight away is to bring binoculars, seal colonies on the rocks opposite the house. Very well fitted out, everything was just so well put together. We didn't want for anything but better weather and that isn't the fault of the cottage. There is everything and more that you would need inside and wonderful views. Cottage was bigger than I thought we are a family of 4 and it was fine
