Too expensive for what it offers

The location was excellent — close to everything I needed, including public transport, restaurants, and shops. It made getting around the city super convenient and really added to the comfort of my stay. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, always available when I had questions or needed anything. Their hospitality really stood out.

However, there were some major downsides. The apartment was extremely hot, especially at night, and there was no air conditioning — just a small fan that didn’t do much. It made it really difficult to sleep or relax indoors. Additionally, the furniture was quite old and worn, which took away from the overall comfort of the space.

Exceptional

It was spacious, with everything you could possibly need, plus extra little welcoming treats. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The apartment faced onto an interior courtyard on one side and a back garden on the other, so it was very quiet even though it was right down in the historic city center. The owner was very friendly and gave us great restaurant recommendations. There were lots of cafes, restaurants, a supermarket and a local market with a bakery, all within about 2 blocks.

We wished we could have stayed longer.

Superb

Palazzo Malaspina has a perfect location - at the edge of the historic center, but still quiet. It is a beautiful classic palazzo and offers typical atmosphere and spacious rooms with high ceilings. We were welcomed very warm and friendly.

Exceptional

Super apartment in an ancient building right in the heart of the old town. A door leads you behind the facade where you enter a spacious, traffic-free courtyard before entering the apartment, so pleasantly quiet. Good bathroom and spacious bedroom with plenty of character, including a baby grand piano! Paolo is a congenial host and was very gracious considering my rather late arrival. Good cafe for breakfast 2min walk away. My brief visit confirmed that Piacenza is worthy of a more leisurely exploration.
