About this house rental
This gorgeous custom built home is perfect for your family vacation, office retreat, or quiet mountain getaway. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this 5500 square foot home boasts two master suites, three additional bedrooms and four bathrooms. On the main level, you will experience breathtaking mountain and lake views from the living room, kitchen, dining room and master suite. Enjoy your morning coffee on the large covered deck, or watch an amazing sunset after an exciting day on the lake.
The main level offers Silestone countertops in the kitchen, ash wood floors throughout, and an oversized garden tub in the master suite. Catch the game on the smart 70" flat screen TV in the living room, or check the stats with the complimentary wifi. The open floor plan makes it easy to meet any and all of your space needs.
The downstairs presents gorgeous marble floors, three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an oversized walk in shower. Enjoy a game of Foosball, or relax on the second covered porch. This home has it all!
Outside, you will find a sitting area to soak in all the beautiful surroundings. Walk a little further down to the dock, and you will find a beautiful gazebo, wired with speakers to relax to your favorite tune. The private dock is perfect for catching sun rays and fishing. It's equipped with a jet ski lift and a boat slip. If you are planning to go boating, a boat ramp is conveniently located at the Bear Creek Marina, which is a short boat ride from the house. You will also find gas pumps and a Bar & Grill at the Marina. "The Lake House" also offers a concrete sidewalk down to the gazebo, and water. Easy access for a wheel chair, or stroller.
Lake James is home to The Lake James State Park. The park has multiple mountain biking trails for beginners all the way to expert. The extensive trail system, is a great way to enjoy hiking at your own pace and The Paddy's Creek Area is a great public swimming spot for all ages. The Linville and Catawba rivers flow into the lake, providing a variety of sport fishing, and don't forget about the educational events available by the park rangers. For the golfers in the family, the Marion Lake Club offers a fantastic course with several lake views.

This lake house is a fantastic place for large families! Everything was exceptional and definitely will consider another stay here in the future. Enjoyed the beautiful views from the back porch. Kids loved the kayaks, ping pong, large tv, movies and games provided. Plenty of room for our large family. The kitchen was well stocked and lots of seating options for meals. All the beds were very comfortable. Didn’t want to leave!

Overall it was a great stay. The house is huge and the views are amazing. There are many sleeping options as well as dining tables and areas. The walk to the water from the house is not at all bad compared to most. The driveway however is super steep. There were a few things that could have been slightly better but overall it was excellent. I would have much preferred to use the covered boat slip but I knew that was not an option upfront. When it rains it dumps off the roof right into your boat. The off-site boat trailer storage was a real plus. There are no house keys. The deadbolts on the back of the house are very difficult to lock from the inside. Every time you went on the boat you had to exit the front door, which locks with a code and walk all the way around the house. The downstairs refrigerator needs adjusting, it froze many things. Other than that enjoyed the stay and would go again in the future.

Loved almost everything about this property. The house is lovely, master suites are very spacious. Loved the comfortable twin swivel chairs looking out over the lake in the upstairs master.The path down to the lake is very steep. As a 70+ grandma with health and mobility issues, I was only able to go down twice, backwards in a wheelchair. Getting me back up to the porch was a real workout for my sons! I mostly enjoyed the porches. Also more steps than I expected.The family really enjoyed the lake activities. We rented a pontoon boat and enjoyed the provided kayaks. Lots of swimming and fishing off the dock. The lake view is magnificent! Very well stocked kitchens and it was great to have two refrigerators. The beds were comfortable, but a bit high for me. Plenty of seating in the kitchen with two tables, plus counter/bar stools. Also a formal dining room.Would definitely recommend this property, but keep in mind that the elderly might have problems getting down to the lake.
