About this house rental
A Home That Breathes with the Mountains and the positive energy of the family who designed and built it. The story begins in 2006 when purchased the land with a 3 year old and an 18 month old girl by our sides. Little did we know that two years later we would be blessed with a little boy in 2008. A busy family and budgets prevented us from breaking ground until 2021. The house was completed in 2024. Over five years our family collaborated on the design, first using an iPad Architecture design app and a Pinterest board. We were able to digitally walk through the house to assess scale and flow. We wrote bible verses on the studs before the drywall went up.
Step inside and feel the weight of the world fall away. Soaring cathedral ceilings draw your eyes upward while floor-to-ceiling windows frame year-round panoramic views that change with every passing cloud. The mountain modern aesthetic isn't trying too hard—it simply belongs here. A stunning waterfall granite fireplace cascades down the living room wall. A raindrop chandelier mimics morning mist. Birch wood wallpaper whispers of the forest just outside your door.
The open floor plan flows seamlessly from great room to chef's kitchen, fully appointed for culinary adventures or casual coffee mornings. Then there's the crown jewel: a 1,700-square-foot deck that practically floats above the treetops. Sink into the hot tub under a canopy of stars. Gather around the firepit as the forest settles into evening song. Simply breathe.
Sleep Like You've Never Slept Before
Five king beds with premium mattresses and cloud-like down comforters await across four bedrooms and a loft retreat. Each space claims its own private bathroom—no morning traffic jams here. This is sleep elevated to an art form, where the only thing waking you is the choice between mountain views from bed or coffee on the deck.
Adventure at Your Doorstep (and Just Beyond)
Your 10-acre playground invites exploration—wander forest trails, spot wildlife, or simply get lost in the rhythm of rustling leaves. Lake James beckons 10 minutes away for kayaking, fishing, or lakeside picnics. The charming town of Marion offers farm-to-table dining, well-stocked grocers, and an authentic downtown—all without the tourist crowds.
Positioning is everything: Asheville's vibrant arts scene and craft breweries sit 45 minutes west. Sugar Mountain's ski slopes call 50 minutes north. Dozens of waterfalls—from gentle cascades to thundering plunges—wait within an hour's drive, with AllTrails guiding you to hidden gems.
Four Seasons, Infinite Memories
Spring bursts with wildflowers and rushing streams. Summer offers cool mountain breezes and firefly evenings. Fall explodes in Technicolor foliage. Winter transforms the view into a serene wonderland, best enjoyed from the steaming hot tub.
Table Rock Sanctuary isn't about escaping life—it's about remembering what life is supposed to feel like. This is a non-smoking property. Smoking will lead to $1000 in extra cleaning fees. No gatherings of more than 12 people on the property. There is a beautiful wedding and event venue called Blanton House 10 minutes away.
