Tree-top Views and Glorious Sunset Views from the top floor ( 3rd floor of duplex property). Away from the crowds and only 12 miles to Yosemite Valley, 8 miles to skiing, and 17 miles to Glacier Point !

The Yosemite Sunset House is a duplex vacation property located in Yosemite West, a small development of private residences! This unit occupies the entire 3rd floor. A smaller independent unit is located on the 2nd floor.

• No cell service in most of the park or in our area
• Starlink Internet/Wi-Fi -- not suitable for work/video-conf
• No pets, no fires, no smoking
• No events, no vacationing groups of students, no climbing or filming crews
• 53 stairs to the top floor of this building

-- QUIET HOURS HOUSE RULE: 10PM to 7AM - strongly enforced !!! Not recommended for "night owls", early risers or jet-lagged travelers.

*** Living room, dining area and kitchen are the heart of this house and provide an open and bright atmosphere. Large deck surrounded by forest! Tree-top views and long vistas out to the western horizon!

-- Bright vacation home with lots of windows and tree-top views! (no dark wood paneling here!)
-- INSIDE the Entrance Gates of Yosemite! Avoid long waiting lines at the gates during peak season.
-- Avoid commuting in and out of the park ... this location is through the gates and miles INSIDE the park -- (unlike those labeled **near** Yosemite, or **close to Yosemite** such as in Groveland, Mariposa, El Portal, Fish Camp, etc.)

-- Two independent units, each on its own floor, guests share only the outside stairway.

Close to everything you must see:

**** Yosemite Valley is about 12 miles to the north and a 25 to 35-minute drive.
**** Glacier Point = 16 miles -- a 30-minute drive
**** Badger Pass Ski area = 7 miles
**** Wawona and the Mariposa Grove = 16 miles -- a 30-minute drive

Yosemite's splendors are within easy driving distance: the three most popular visitors' destination areas within the park are: Yosemite Valley floor, spectacular Glacier Point and Wawona and the Giant Redwoods - each less than a 25 to 35 minutes drive from the house!

-- Clean, very bright, and furnished for comfort, this unit (actually, the main house) offers that special feeling of home-away-from-home.

*** THE SUNSET HOUSE *** (on the top floor): one of the two units at this property, has two bedrooms/1.5 baths, this is a large unit ( 1350 sq. ft.) with a 575 sq. ft. deck. The living room is spacious, bright-with lots of windows, long views to the Western horizon, as well as forest views everywhere else. A fireplace for winter nights, jetted tub in the bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and a very large deck with plenty of deck furniture with a gas grill for BBQ's. Sleeps 2-5 guests.

*** SUMMER Check-in time: after 5pm and before 9pm
*** Check out time: by 10am

INTERNET and CELL PHONES: Satellite WiFi which is sufficient for checking email and basic internet use (no streaming, downloads, or heavy internet use).
Cell phones in Yosemite have very spotty reception, if any at all, except for the Yosemite Valley area -- we have a Verizon cell signal booster which may provide limited connectivity but consider yourself ** disconnected ** while you are staying at this property.

*** Guests must be able to climb several flights of stairs to access the 2 units in this property.

*** OUR GUESTS: Our vacation home has been enjoyed by couples on their honeymoon, many anniversaries, several 'I'll be asking her hand' events, and many book lovers, romantic stargazers, painters and photographers.

*** Activities in the park are many: fishing, hiking, rock climbing, biking, birdwatching and much more. More active folks can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, sledding, ice skating, river rafting, and horseback riding to name a few.

*** This is a place away from the crowded Yosemite Valley floor, a place for evening relaxation: sit back and enjoy the wind whispering through the cedars, pines and dogwoods; stargazers can marvel at the clear night skies with millions of stars while listening to the sounds of the forest from the large decks!

Yosemite offers world-famous vistas and a variety of activities for everyone, year around - A few examples of the many organized activities offered are: free art classes (watercolor, sketching & drawing, etc.), morning photography walks, a Valley Birdwalk, and special programs designed for families and children.
