The Capitola 'Rose Cottage' is located in the heart of the village. One block to famous restaurants, shopping and Capitola Beach. Step into the pages of Cottage Living and enjoy all the amenities that this restored historic beach cottage has to offer. Designer touches throughout the property. Recently remodeled with wide plank pine flooring, rough hewn open beams and smooth plaster walls. Have your coffee in the sun filled kitchen and afternoon nap on the sunny front porch. The home features a sun filled back deck and yard for outdoor dining and entertaining with gas BBQ and two eating areas. Garden offers roses and lush Hawaiian greenery. Beach toys, chairs and towels make you ready for the beach with an outdoor shower for rinsing off after.

Enjoy the flat screen TV and DVD player in the living area and let the kids watch their favorite show on the porch. Secured WiFi. The house is equipped for all your dining and cooking needs if you don't feeling like eating out on the town.

Both bedrooms are cottage style right down to the quilt at the end of the bed. Our sleeping porch, fully closed in with double paned windows has an alcove with 2 twin beds and seating area.

We came to Capitola for my mom’s 80th birthday and to see family that lives locally. This quaint cottage is conveniently located a half block off the main street and a couple blocks from the beach. In spite of the proximity to the commercial center, the cottage was very quiet. The dedicated parking was definitely a plus in this neighborhood! The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The only tip I would give to other travelers is if there are any mobility issues, this may not be the best fit. There are steps up to the cottage, a claw foot tub/shower in one bathroom and step down to the second bath with the easily accessible shower. That being said, my 80 year old mother had no issues here. We would definitely love to come back and make this a yearly tradition!

Our second visit, this is a great spot. Grandparents and grandkids alike love it. Note to owners: a little maintenance work on front showerhead and replacing burnt out light bulbs in several rooms would give great bang for the buck. All told, those are minor inconveniences and this place is magical. The walk to the beach and around town is unbeatably convenient. Great spots out of the town center are also a short walk like Gayle's and Sante Adarius. The corner market has surprisingly good selection of snacks, local beer, cough medicine, everything.

This property is in a great location with a beautiful backyard. The beach is only 3 blocks away with shops and restaurants at the end of the block. We will be going back soon. The only drawback is that there is only one parking space so if you have more than one car you have to find parking nearby or park in the City’s daily parking about 1/4 mile away.

I loved everything!! It's a two minute walk to the beach and conveniently located to all the shops. a little dated and in need of a few appliances and kitchenware. The owners are great and so quick to respond. This is my second year in a row staying we'll probably be back again soon.

This property has well equipped kitchen, lovely backyard and a nice gas barbque. It is located in a nice quiet (most of the time) neighborhood. The "Rose Cottage" made for a GREAT week at the beach!

Wow, it is so refreshing to have the privilege of sharing someone's well-appointed family home rather than an investment holding with IKEA chic commodities. We found everything we could need readily on hand, from ample towels and spare linens to a nice selection of dishware to even a folding wagon and sand shovels for the kids. The walk to the beach is as close as nearby resorts, and town is delightfully fun to stroll. I was surprised how quiet the street felt only half a block from the main drag - sleeping on the porch with open windows was peaceful and pleasant. BBQ was brand new and we got to meet the owners next door to thank them. In town for a wedding and a wonderful Father's day weekend, we got beach time, delightful strolls to a bakery (Gayle's) and a brewery Sainte Adarius), played card and board games with grandkids and grandparents together and enjoyed a wonderful dinner on the patio. The warm water outdoor shower was a special treat which made returning from ocean play so much smoother. We already booked to return! Thank you!

The rose cottage was perfect for us in every way. First of all, it is just so charming and lovely! For being close to town, it was very quiet and we all slept really well. The beds are high quality, the kitchen was stocked with ALL of the necessary equipment which is hard to find in weekend rentals. Communication with Denise was easy and made our stay stress-free. Can’t wait to go back!

It was so wonderful to walk into a clean, fresh, charming place. The cottage was so adorable and met our needs perfectly. Both the indoor space and outdoor space we so pleasing to what we were looking for- relaxation. This house is perfectly situated just a short walk from the village in Capitola. Such a perfect location. The house is small, but well appointed and had a nice deck out back that makes the space feel bigger. The only reason this didn't get five stars is that the bathrooms did not have bars of soap or shampoo and conditioner. We would definitely stay here again.

The cottage was the perfect location for exploring Capitola and the area. It was very quiet. The outdoor area is very nicely done although we couldn't enjoy it much as it was pretty cold(at least to those of us from Hawaii) after the sun went down- but it certainly added to the ambiance. I spoke to the owner over a plumbing issue(that was immediately fixed) and it was her grandmother's cottage- so obviously well loved and taken care . Recommended for a stay in Capitola!

Home was very nice and clean. We had 6 adults and everyone had plenty of room. The back deck was the perfect place for hanging out and even having meals. This was a girlfriends trip of six ladies. We had a fantastic time at the Rose Cottage. Plenty of room for us all to relax and perfect location to walk anywhere in Capitola and less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. The six of us decided the Rose Cottage will be our yearly girlfriend destination. Thank you Rick and Denise for providing a beautiful, comfy place for us to call home for a few days!

The Pink House

The Pink House

Three doors down to downtown Capitola, an easy walk to avoid having to find parking. Landscaping was beautiful around the house and the patio was awesome with a round patio table to sit around. The decoration inside the house is eclectic for sure. A little less furniture would make it feel bigger. It had all the necessities you needed. TV had Spectrum though it was a bit slow with 2G, but it had lots of channels and movie selections. The beds were comfortable but the couch needs replacing or the pads redone because you sink down quite a ways when you sit on it. The kitchen sink water smelled like sulfur for most of our stay. It did clear up for the most part by the end of our stay. The weather was absolutely perfect!
