This was an amazingly clean and nice place to stay. It is somewhat remote and charming in its upkeep. The kitchen had condiments as well as a gas stove. It worked out great since there was a fire ban in effect during our stay. TnHere is also a laundry room. Things to note: neighbor across the way has a dog and if you are sitting on the porch he will bark at the sound of your voice. In the booklet it states there is a horse shoe pit and game but there is not. And in the book it talks about hiking up the hill to add a stone to the chair at the top of the mt. There is no chair. Other than that, there is a remarkable sauna. Extremely clean and well kept. There is a master suite with a huge shower. The main bathroom is quite large as well. If you fancy fishing lake Dewees is about 30 minutes away. Great fishing in the evening. We caught many. The town of westcliff is a wonderful experience as well. The owners of the cabin are amazingly accommodating and wonderful at communication.

About 30min of westcliffe. Quiet for your recovery. Good rooms and beds. Solid intranets and build. Follow the specific instructions given and you will get there. Was perfect for climbing downtime.

Didn’t even stay there! Arrived after 10-15 miles of unpaved mountain roads I would not have wanted to be on in the rain or the dark. I do not care to stay off the beaten path, but this was a bit much! Listing pictures must have been photoshopped. WiFi didn’t work even though check in instructions said I should “just be able to come on, no password”. Contacted owner to let them know I would not be staying and to see if I could get some sort of discount. That question was never answered! I was told “I should just go back to the cabin, it’s a nice place.” Wasted money!

We go to Colorado every year. This year we couldn’t stay with my mom, because her new home wasn’t complete in time. We wanted something off the beaten path, and this fit the bill exactly. Beware though if you value cell service, but the WiFi helped alot. The owner was receptive to all of my questions. Overall it was a great stay. The view was amazing.

We stayed here for a weekend family getaway. Great location, secluded, beautiful views and start gazing. We were met by deer out front our first morning, sadly they did not appear too fearful of people so letting our dog outside was a little tough. Overall a great place for any nature lover.

We stayed 2 nights on our way to Aspen. The cabin is spacious and comfortable. We especially loved the porch and sauna. If this cabin is one of your options, you won’t be disappointed.

This VRBO was nice. The cabin itself was clean and had all the necessities. Definately print the directions beforehand because service is spotty at best. The sauna was great & the owner was very nice and pretty responsive. It was not as secluded as I thought it would be as there are neighbor's close enough to hear. But for the most part it was a nice relaxing weekend with nice sights and wildlife.

I'm a born and raised Houstonian so we were fairly concerned about the lack of AC. Temperatures in Canon City were hitting 102 degrees but the temperatures were never a concern at the cabin. Even at the end of July we the temp was dropping into the 60's by the end of the day and we slept comfortably in this clean and spacious home.
The living/dinning area was bigger than it looked in the pictures and was inviting and restful while the kitchen was supplied with everything needed. The bedrooms and bathrooms were also clean and comfortable.
I was looking for a location that would be dark at night so we could enjoy the stars and this cabin fit the bill perfectly. We stayed up every night to enjoy the sunset and the night sky. The wildlife was certainly a bonus as well. We saw 3-4 deer within an hour of arriving and plenty of humming birds and rabbits as well.
The cabin is a beautiful home in a beautiful location and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

My wife and I needed to get away for a weekend and found this place and booked it. The instructions were great but we really didn't use it. My wife put in the address in her phone while we were in town and GPS took us right to this place. Helpful Hint: Make sure you put in the address while you still have a good cell service. It was nice being away in the peacefulness of the mountains and forest with views that make this place worth while and the stars were spectacular. Overall, this place was exactly what we needed for our weekend trip.

We had a slight hiccup with the cabin on night one. The host tried her best to fix the issue. This paved the way to having a great week in the mountains. Great affordable place to get away.

Worth the drive
Worth the drive
Family and I stayed here over the Memorial Weekend. I picked the location because it was near the Royal Gorge (a site we had tried to visit in 2013 when we were evacuated due to the fire) and because it had gorgeous views. The view was, indeed gorgeous and we enjoyed the remote location. It is a rustic cabin but had all the necessary Kitchen, Bath and Bed items. The beds were comfortable. I did, however, underestimate the drive from Canon City. There was approx 13 miles of dirt road with multiple switchbacks and drop offs without guardrails. The road was well maintained and for those accustomed to mountain roads not overly concerning. Just be sure to bring in everything you need (no quick trips to the grocery store) and allow 40-50 minutes to get down to Canon City. I would rent this cabin again but next time plan to spend the entire time in and near the cabin investigating the numerous trails off the road up.

Loved the deck views and the heated floors in bathroom. The home felt like home. The silverware reminded me of the ones we used in the mountains growing up. Happy with our stay would stay again.

Cozy Cabin
Cozy Cabin
We immensely enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was very peaceful. The cabin is well stocked with kitchen supplies for cooking and the new bathroom is lovely. We enjoyed watching the snow through the beautiful picture windows. We had a little difficulty getting the gas fireplace started, but the owner was quick to respond to our questions. I highly recommend traveling to the cabin in the winter months from Westcliffe instead of Canon City. Coming over the mountain can get a little scary when it’s icy.

Magical Christmas Stay
Magical Christmas Stay
Stayed at this cabin with some family to enjoy the Christmas holiday together. I couldn't have been more pleased with the beautiful cabin full of amenities. We had a brief struggle lighting the fireplace, however, the property manager and the owner were incredibly responsive and helped us get it going. This is a must-stay for large families!

Beautiful mountain cabin
Beautiful mountain cabin
Very peaceful, clean, well-maintained property. The location offers wonderful opportunities to view wildlife, especially early mornings and late evenings. The drive up to the cabin from Silvercliffe/Westcliffe is 15+ miles up a winding dirt road that is well-maintained but it takes 20+ minutes. Going to/from Canon City is 12 miles, with 3+ being switchback. Would not recommend driving either in the dark, especially Canon City. We would definitely book this cabin again. It can sleep 6 people very comfortably with a large kitchen and table to gather around for meals and games.

Lovely and spacious! The most comfortable bed, ever!
Lovely and spacious! The most comfortable bed, ever!
Pros: WONDERFUL vacation home near trails and vistas with fantastic porch area overlooking sunsets every night. They have all of the main amenities in style including a convection oven with gridle and the most comfortable master bed we've ever slept in when traveling! It also had a wonderfully large dining room table with 6 chairs which fit our family for both meals and game playing. There was a white table outside that we brought to the porch to have dinners while watching the sunset and the deer. There was a mamma deer and fawn and we also saw a group of 12 bucks nearby on one outing. They are working on adding a sauna in the master bedroom bath. Nice!
Cons: I brought food to cook on the grill (in case fire regulations would allow) but the grill was tiny and so we cooked inside and they were having a heat wave, so it got pretty warm for a couple of hours before the temperature lowered. Wish we'd thought to eat outside on the porch, sooner because it was cooler outside by 5:00 PM. Still, it was 10 degrees cooler than down in Canon City proper! They did have a supply of fans but I would recommend bringing a window fan in the summer if you are as sensitive to heat as I am. At least the master bedroom stayed cool the whole time and It probably only gets this hot for a few weeks in the summer.
I also could not find a hair dryer, and the place was a little short on measuring spoons and cups.
But overall, fantastic place and I was so happy to be able to bring our pomeranians who are just no trouble at all without having to pay an exorbitant fee!

Cabin in the woods
Cabin in the woods
The cabin was as described. Well equipped. Comfortable bed. Loved the view from the deck. The road to get to it a bit hair raising. A clearer marking of which driveway to take once you get there would be helpful. We left a day early because of threat of more rain and potential mudslide. Couldn't get wifi or TV to work (no instructions) but that wasn't a big deal. To nice to be inside anyway. We didn't have cell service but again, not a problem.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The location was remote and absolutely beautiful.
It had everything we needed to cook, clean and sleep comfortably. The beds and pillows were soft and comfortable. The appliances worked great and the back bathroom is going to be fantastic when the sauna is complete. We can’t wait to come back.

Fun Getaway
Fun Getaway
This was a very secluded property and was exactly what we wanted for our family vacation this summer. The only thing that would be worth mentioning is that the road from Canon City to the cabin was super steep with switchbacks. Thankfully we had a 4 wheel drive vehicle, but the road terrified me so much that we used gps to find an alternate route when we did actually venture into town....we are from Minnesota and roads like that definitely aren’t the norm, so maybe it isn’t as white knuckle inducing for others :)

This is a great property to rent. There are no close next door neighbors. About 35 min from ant town. Beautiful scenery. Everything available to make the stay feel like home. The only negative is the cleanliness of the property. We would stay here again though because we loved the peacefulness!
