About this house rental
Now renting for spring, summer and fall 2024 and 2025! The villa is in a quiet cove on the shores of Keuka Lake with wide open lake views. Wake up and open your bedroom door and it appears that you are living in a treehouse atop the lake. Begin your day watching the sun rise over the bluff and sipping coffee from your rocking chair on the upstairs sunporch. You have all day to go for a bag ride, swim, read, fish, hike, bike, and explore. As the day winds to a close have dinner lakeside at a local restaurant or fire up the grill to have your own private lake view while you dine. End the day with a fire as the sky fills with stars.
Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a sunporch with rocking chairs, t.v. room/sitting room, an open floor plan kitchen/family room, with a dining table that seats eight, and a comfortable seating area with sofa bed that converts into a queen-size bed provides plenty of room for a romantic trip, family vacations or a gathering of friends. Keuka Villa sits on the edge of the lake and the cottage has stairs that take guests from the road to the 2nd level. There is a set of exterior stairs that then go directly to the dock/ cottage front and an interior set of stairs that go from the sunporch to the first floor sitting room. We welcome pets and children but want of all our guests to be comfortable and safe; so please be aware of the many levels and stairs.

The residence and environs were wonderful! The home had absolutely everything we needed and more, and was comfy and kitchy. The beds were very comfortable with lots of extra pillows and blankets. There were two gravity deck chairs which I was grateful for, as I was thinking of bringing my own! Access and view of lake was magnificent! Kitchen was stocked with everything needed. Air conditioners in bedrooms worked great. The other rooms did not have AC but they never felt too warm especially with the doors open, and the use of a box fan. We used the fire pit as well. We were well warned about the 50 steps, only challenging up on arrival and departure for your luggage. If arriving at night, I definitely recommend bringing headlamps as the lights are there but more illumination is helpful. Only recommendations would be to bring your own chair umbrellas as the deck does not have any shade, and to ask the owner if he could get grill cleaned if you want to grill. Had an amazing time and would definitely return!

Pros:
No issues with checking in.
Lake access and location was good.
House was clean.
Cons:
Main door to deck was broken upon arrival.
Due to the door being broken, i was not able to lock the house and had to leave our belongings unsecured. This was reported to me by the owner but should have been fixed prior to our arrival.
The main staircase inside the house was very loose and needs repair.
We had other minor issues that we were able to overlook and move on with our vacation.
I don't expect perfection however, i did expect a bit more from this trip considering the cost.
Improvements such as air conditioning on the first floor and some needed repairs would greatly enhance anyone's stay.
The finger lakes region is a great area but for my next visit, i will likely seek a new location.
