About this house rental
Come stay in our 2700 square foot, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, island home. It has a view of the water from every window. The 2 story home has an easterly facing sun porch that allow inside viewing of beautiful morning sunrise coming up over Whitney Bay and northern lake Huron. The island also has two docks on the western side that are great for watching your evening sunset. Enjoy the private water frontage and dock access to great fishing, water sports and boating waters that surround the island for miles. The rental includes a 24' pontoon for your stay to use how you wished fishing, cruising, or just floating around.
There is a deck on the eastern side of the home which is great for outside relaxing, evening star gazing, and watching the loons, water fowl, birds, deer and many small animal species that are in abundance.
The pontoon provided with the rental gives you the opportunity for touring the bay area, fishing and whatever else you may want to do on the water. There is enough dock space for 2-3 additional boats.
Easy access to the Soo Locks, St.Ignace, Mackinaw Island and Canada for those of you with a desire for day trips.
Note: Pets are allowed but this system only allows for a set pet rate and charge I have set at 75.00 but that charge is per pet. If you only have one dog or cat Etc. the 75.00 will cover you but you have more then one pet then you are responsible for 75.00 per pet for each additional pet brought with you. While at property you are responsible for pets actions and any damages caused by pets to property or furniture. We do not want pets on furniture. The charge is to offset extra cleaning times required do to pet hair smells Etc. Thank you Management

The trip up to Drummund Island started off terrible with the car overheating an hour away from home then finally dying halfway between home and the rental house.
After renting a Uhaul box truck, on a holiday weekend, I loaded up the wife and dog and we made our way to our rental on Surgeons Island. From the moment we stepped foot on the island all our anxiety melted away. The home is wonderful and the views of Whitney Bay are incredible!
I cannot honestly say enough good things about the owners and this rental home other than we have another trip booked to Surgeons Island this year and we will be planning another trip to Surgeons Island next year. This VRBO rental is truly a hidden gem!

Our week did not start well, we arrived an hour early for our 3pm check in, and nobody was there to meet us. Tried both phone numbers, messaging, knocking on doors at the marina, etc. After 5 hours of waiting we got it sorted out as a miscommunication. Other than that, it was an amazing experience. Cabin is perfect, and the location is second to none.
