About this house rental
Unique modern home that sits on the banks of Lake Pontchartrain that has a front porch 25` x 20` that faces Lake Pontchartrain and rear porch that faces the marina & Southern Yacht Club. Open floor plan with two distinct living spaces. Only 8 mi from French Quarter. Guests rave over the porches as a place to relax while hanging out with family or friends or just reading a book! `Sunsets are just breathtaking`
Perfect place to relax - open space where everyone can find their own spot to relax. Whether it is in a sofa, chair, bed or floor on the inside - or sofa or chair on a porch - or sitting on the dock fishing or crabbing - you will find your place to enjoy your time at the Boathouse!
You have access to all the living space and porches on the second floor - and access to parking, and docks on the first floor. Docks can be used for fishing & crabbing.

Unique area of New Orleans named West End - dating back to the early 1800`s. Originally built as a resort, the area now houses the boating community of New Orleans. There is a park with a running and walking path - as well as areas along the rocky shore. Locals come to the area to fish, crab, launch their boats and watch sunsets - just to name a few! The area was impacted by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and has since been rebuilt. The marina and shoreline were rebuilt in 2019.

It is 1.1 miles to the bus stop on the corner of Robert E. Lee and Lakeshore Drive (Lakeview Line #45) - about a 20 minute walk. That line will get you to the Base of Canal Street (Cemeteries Transportation Center) where you can catch the Street Car into the city at Canal St & City park Avenue.
Of course, there is always uber and taxi`s.

We had a wonderful time at this gorgeous house. It was the perfect location, and very comfortable. We cooked a delicious Thanksgiving dinner in the huge kitchen and enjoyed it on the porch overlooking the marina. Highly recommend and would love to stay again.

4 adult males enjoyed the outside areas both in front and back. The space was perfect for us. The view of the Southern yacht club was beautiful. The park area in front was very nice

Stunningly beautiful! Decor and views are superb. We did have some lock box code confusion at check-in but it was corrected. I would likely stay here again with our grandsons, but this is technically a one bedroom, not two. Please check the provided floor plan carefully. The master bed has a partial wall between it and the two Murphy beds. The king-sized sleeper in the den worked well for the older teen grandsons and provided us some privacy. My only real concern was that the owner/manager should provide two keys rather than one for fire safety/egress at each door.

We have stayed at this Boathouse multiple times. The stay is always amazing and our family walks away wishing for more time and looking at nearby properties to buy or rent. It is relaxing, safe, and very well kept. The property never disappoints.
For those somewhat concerned about safety in NOLA, the Boathouse is just far enough away to give you a comfortable atmosphere, yet quick access to every hot spot. 10-15 minutes gets you to the Quarter, the WW2 Museum, all the food and fun. We have always done a little fishing and spent time just walking the marina.
I think I have bragged on this enough, but I'll close with this: our family is the happiest at this spot out of all the years we have visited NOLA and all the properties we have booked (and we have been going for 15+ years).
