Luxury Home with Pool on 2 Acres of Virgin Land

We stayed at the home for 5 nights in early January, unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with our stay so we had a little more time at the house than we initially planned. The house is in a great location for access to downtown Nassau (10-15 minute drive), and about 5 minutes from grocery, pharmacy and most other needs. The hosts were very welcoming and willing to accomodate anything we needed. The only issues we had were spotty internet service which I believe was a problem that was resolved shortly after we left and a couple early wake up calls from the dogs on the property. (I would not recommend if you are not a dog person). Other than that, we enjoyed the visit and would recommend the home to others. The photos online are very accurate as to the property, so no surprises as can be the case with rentals.

My husband, my sister, and I enjoyed our stay at the Gardenia apartment recently. We enjoy cooking and made many excellent meals in the kitchen while we were there. As previous reviews note, the gardens are lush and wonderful. Despite relatively cool weather, I did have one swim in the lovely pool. The resident dogs are friendly and sweet – my husband enjoyed being around them and giving them treats. Bobbi and Twiggy are charming hosts who provided information about the area that one does not find in an ordinary guidebook. The beds are comfortable and the art work in the apartment is fascinating, furnishings are as pictured. Because we are a ‘readerly’ family, we would have appreciated more or stronger lighting inside, but we did just fine!

Nestled in a tranquil, upscale gated community, the accommodations are stunning and far more breathtaking than pictures could capture. The two-bedroom gardenia apartment was perfectly peaceful with all the amenities you'd need for a sweet stint in paradise. Our favorite part was the pool/patio and surrounding property with its postcard-worthy-views and lush, palm-studded landscape. Barbara was a very sweet and accommodating host! She was happy to provide us with everything we needed to ensure a pleasant stay. If you're looking for a relaxing vacay in a beautifully secluded bungalow, I would highly recommend booking with Barbara!

This review may feel a little bipolar but there are things to enjoy at this property and things that need some attention. The owner and her daughter, both Barbaras, are charming and very helpful in getting you set in the quarters and giving you suggestions on activities and places to visit. The property was landscaped very well by a very critical eye - it is beautiful. The location is great; very close to the main roads in and out of town. Conversely, if you're looking for privacy, there isn't much since this rental is a wing of the house, not its own building. The owners are frequently wandering around outside your windows, as are maintnenance people; the 4 dogs on the property bark at all hours. The property is storm damaged; there are tarps covering the roof over the rental; you can clearly see outside through the ceiling in the queen size bedroom. Water was unavailable for most of the second and third day of our stay. The pool needed to be cleaned; the pump didn't ever seem to be on. It isn't 1200 sq. ft. unless you count the breezeway. There is no true dining space, TV is in the kitchen. The grill was inaccessible since that area was fenced off and had a huge pile of lumber from a collapsed structure. The property description needs to be updated to clear up any indication that this rental is private; the storm damage needs to be fixed. Once these two things are complete, I believe this property will fill the needs of travellers looking for this type of accomodation.
