About this cabin rental
Peaceful cabin with screened-in porch, large deck, fully equipped kitchen. Sit on the porch swing and watch the river. Or take a float in your kayak or tube, there are steps to the river between our two cabins as well as plenty of public launch points nearby. Close access to the river lets you swim or fish to your heart's content. We have 2 one-person kayaks available with paddles and life jackets. Must sign a waiver to use the kayaks.
A birder's paradise! We've seen osprey, eagles, herons and other water birds, as well as countless songbirds. Add your spottings to our list!
Visit historical sites like Old Bedford Village or the Coverlet Museum, or shop for antiques nearby. Cabin is close to Bedford and Everett, but on a quiet rural lane with no through traffic.
Enjoy the fire ring and picnic table in the yard, or dine inside with views of the tranquil, shaded yard. Cabin is rustic, with basic amenities including Wi-Fi internet, a flat screen smart TV, and a gas grill. It's the perfect spot for those who just want to "get away from it all". Please note that we do not provide sheets or towels. Also, please be aware that the cabin is not toddler-proof! Cleaning supplies are located under the kitchen sink and in the bathroom, and upstairs bedrooms have curtains rather than doors.
Please know that the health and safety of our guests is our primary concern! We follow CDC cleaning and sanitation guidelines as well as maintaining a 1-day (24-hour) buffer between rentals.

The house fit out needs perfectly. Was very clean and had everything we needed. The host was very responsive. The river access was improved which was a nice surprise. Would be awesome if there was a better way to fish from the bank because the property sits about 20'-30' above the water. But we made it work. Having access to kayaks made it fun. The gas grill needs some work but other than that, we had another great trip and plan to do it again next year!

We were looking for a nice place to enjoy some peace and quiet with our dog. This place did not fail to deliver! The cabin had everything we needed and was very clean and neat. It was nice that the owner left a little pet area, with a rubber mat and food/water dish. It was very thoughtful to provide that. We had ample wifi and air conditioning. The cabin was easy to access, and it was nice to have the Juniata right in front of the cabin. Our dog especially enjoyed the easy access to the water! We had a very peaceful time and enjoyed sitting in the screened in porch every night. It was nice to listen to the bullfrogs croaking and not having to worry about bugs! Great place, and a great experience! I would stay here again and will recommend to others looking to stay in the area. Thanks again!

This property was paradise for us. Many hours spent playing in the river right out back. Float trip from the bridge back to the house was beautiful and simple. Two kayaks with the rental. Kids, dogs and adults all loved it. Close to plenty of restaurants and stores. So great to be able to bring the dogs. Listening to bullfrogs, fish jumping and sheep calling. Very close to biking and hiking. Hiking to Balance Rock and Ice Mine at Trough Creek State Park, biking the HB and T trail and Abandoned PA turnpike. Very kind and responsive host. Very clean, well supplied, comfortable beds and furniture, good wifi. Very sad to leave and hope to return. Highly recommend if you like peace and quiet surrounded by nature.

The cottage is situated beautifully on the Juniata River. Quiet area with few cars. We were disappointed that the river access to the river was not accessible since the river was so low...the access by the owners left a gap of 4' between their last step and the river so we were not able to use that at all.(I specifically asked about river access before booking) Also, they must have had a limb fall on their back screened in porch and are in the process of rebuilding it so while there was a roof, it was not quite finished being built as the part of the porch that was hit was not screened in. Cabin itself was as listed, except floors are very creaky. Shower stall was narrow in bathroom and my friend felt very unstable in it. We had a nice time together and were glad to get away; this is a very peaceful location otherwise. Our belongings, even after we left, smell like the cabin.
