About this house rental
Plan the perfect family reunion or getaway in this one-of-a-kind 2,800 sq ft. historic home. Built in 1927 by the famous Scripps family in the unique "storybook" style; the home has been remodeled with the latest features to enhance its old world charm. This large house features an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, 5 separate bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and loads of outdoor patio space, providing the ideal mix for both quiet relaxing and fun social time. During the summer season, rentals run from Saturday to Saturday.
Located in the heart of Pacific Beach (PB) San Diego's premier beach destination, the location can't be beat. Pack your wagon with surf and sand toys and head west for 2 blocks to the Pacific Ocean. Or, switch gears and head south 2 blocks to Mission Bay for a leisurely bike ride or to read a book on the sand. Forget something at the store? Ralph's supermarket is a 5 min. walk away, as are a wide variety of restaurants and shops for every taste.

NO SMOKING AND NO PETS.
Check in 4:00 pm on date of arrival and check out is 10:00 am on date of departure unless other arrangements are made with owner.

Our family of 10 visited the Storybook Beach House for our annual vacation. My wife and me, our three sons and their wives, and two grandchildren.The location cannot be beat: the neighborhood is clean and quiet*; beach is a 5 min walk; grocery stores within walking distance; a nearby park; 20 min to the airport, Sea World, and the Zoo. We've stayed in the area previously, but this property is BY FAR the best we've stayed at.The layout, amenities, pool table, pool, hot tub, and fully stocked kitchen made our visit nearly perfect.To top it off, the host (Ryan) was very easy to work with and is a very accommodating host. Super to work with.We WILL be back.*The after midnight revelry of partiers returning from the beach nightclubs was a bit loud on Friday night which necessitated keeping the windows closed. That said, this fact will not keep us from returning.

Our host was AMAZING! He took great care of us down to bringing us over a wrench to fix our mom's wheelchair. This house was amazing and so full of charm. It is SO close to everything. I would HIGHLY recommend this VRBO to anyone!!!!!!

We stayed here for a week with two other families with young kids. The house had a great combination of communal and individual space so we could all hang out and but separate as needed for nap time etc. The sound proofing was excellent so even with the occasional melt down or early wakeup, no one else was bothered. The kitchen had ample prep space to accomodate the needs of three families, and was appointed with sippy cups, smalls plates--all the things toddlers need. The pool was perfect for the kids and the hot tub a welcome treat for the adults. We very much appreciated all the beach toys and the wagons were possibly the highlight of the trip! The location was also fantastic: we could walk to the beach, grocery stores, a bunch of local restaurants and too many ice cream stores! Working with Ryan was also very easy. He was very responsive, he worked with us for early check-in and bag drop off, and was responsive to any concern. Would definitely recommend this house to other families!

Fun stay, close to the beach but far enough away from the noise. Good place for families with children. The small pool was a big hit with our 4 and 7 year old grandchildren.
