About this cottage rental
Truly a home away from home! The cottage, located at 128 Superior St., consists of four bedrooms, two full baths and sleeps 11. The three upstairs bedrooms feature a master room with queen bed, a room with two single beds, and a room with a full bed and twin bunk over it. Redecorated in 2023, the new sectional sofa provides comfort and seating for everyone! Also new, the upstairs bedrooms have individual air conditioning units. The main level bedroom features a queen bed and a trundle bed (two twin mattresses.) There is a pocket door that can be used to create privacy between the room with the queen bedroom and the room with the twin trundle bed. (Ordinance will not allow me to list these as two separate bedrooms.) The dining table seats plenty with bench seating and the smart TV in the family room makes TV viewing a pleasure.The open concept floor plan maximizes the space and flows comfortably. Enjoy the cottage's screened-in porch where you can watch the comings and goings of everyone on their way to the beach or downtown, and the best part, the mosquitoes won't get you! It is always everyone's favorite place to relax! The cottage is walking distance to beach and downtown - one block to beach and two blocks to the riverwalk and downtown. Look west and you can capture the beautiful sunset or stroll on down to the bluff to see the skyline up close and personal! Kids need to burn off some steam? Walk them a few blocks to the great family park and playground, Kid's Corner. They will also find entertainment in the "kid room" which features some toys, easel, and a kid craft table. Bring your bikes, or rent them from one of the many bicycle rental shops in town, and enjoy the VanBuren Bike Trail, which conveniently passes by the cottage.
The cottage has cable TV, wi-fi, air conditioning, gas grill, and washer/dryer. New for 2022, all the bedrooms upstairs have their own air conditioning unit. The kitchen is ready for use and has everything you need for cooking and serving. There is a coffee maker and a Keurig. We also provide everything you need to start off your vacation - paper towel, toilet paper, dish soap, etc. We provide bedding and bath towels, both of which are newly purchased. All you need to do is bring your clothes and beach towel!

Rentals during prime summer weeks run Sunday to Sunday. There is flexibility for check-in day and minimum stay for some June and August weeks. Send me an inquiry to find out more.

We all enjoyed the location of the house, it was walkable to the beach and downtown, so wonderful! The screened in porch was our favorite hangout- we loved watching and greeting the people who walked by.. we also loved hanging out on the comfortable large couch… it was the perfect size house for our family and friends! The house was nicely decorated and the kitchen had everything we needed…there was a binder with helpful information about anything we needed locally!I would recommend you stay here.. we enjoyed every minute!nice and

This is a quaint older house in a fantastic location - a 5 minute walk to the beach and 10 minute walk into town! The house was as shown in the pictures, with plenty of bedrooms for everyone. We particularly enjoyed the screened in porch. However, we found that the house came with lots of older house quirks. The air conditioning could not keep up upstairs so the bedrooms were very warm, particularly during the day. The kitchen is older and full of ants - any food left on the counter overnight was completely overrun with ants the next morning. And most concerningly, the staircase does not have a railing and we spent the entire trip afraid that one of the kids (ages 7, 4, 3, 1.5 and 1) would fall over the 5-6 foot drop and get hurt. It made for a rather stressful trip. We were also disappointed to arrive at check-in time and find that the house was still being cleaned. We weren't able to access the house until almost 45 minutes later, which is quite a long time when you have hot, melting down kids. Overall we'd recommend the house to families with older kids or adults-only based on the location alone, but would strongly recommend against for families like us with young children given the stair rail situation.
