About this cottage rental
Mökki is the perfect mix of cozy log cabin and hip downtown life. This charming abode is located along a quiet street - just a block away from main street. It is within a short walk of Grand Marais' restaurants, pubs, shops, sailboat harbor, North House folk school, the Art Colony and so much more.
The space
Mökki, a Finnish word for cottage, was hand crafted by the owner and is a masterful work of art. Enjoy some down time on the front porch or cozy up in the sleeping loft - this place has a lot of charm.
Surrounding the cabin is a large yard with garden beds and plenty of tree cover.
The cabin sleeps 2; there is 1 queen bed in the loft. Please note that the stairs to the bedroom are steep - it is not a ladder so rest assured that the steps can be descended normally, aka by facing forward.
The kitchen is equipped with a two-burner electric stove, a mini-fridge, a microwave, pots, pans, silverware, dishes, and glassware. For your coffee you can choose from a drip cone or a coffee maker.
This snug cabin has all you'll need for your northern getaway.

As guests, you'll have private access to the cabin for the duration of your stay.

A quaint, walkable area, the cabin is nestled just across from the local library and one street away from lake Superior and the old Gunflint Trail road.

A wonderfully well built little cabin, just about the perfect size for two people. Love the second floor bedroom and large windows throughout the cabin. The location is nearly perfect for visitors to Grand Marais's downtown, somehow it is within walking distance to everything and yet still has a quiet and remote feeling to it.Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends.

This home had everything we needed, and was comfortable and clean. This home is unique in its construction and decor. And it’s walkable location.The only possible downside one might find is the wooden staircase to get to the loft bedroom. We were aware of the staircase when we booked this home, and hence recommend this home for younger couples.

Staying at Mokki Dovetail was a dream. You are met with a quintessential cozy comfortable cabin that is inviting in every way. Also steps away from shopping, eating, the lake and cocktails but it’s so peaceful at the cabin we all slept undisturbed. If the Robin has her nest in the porch you will also be delighted to watch their little family grow. I highly recommend staying here and we will happily be back.
