About this house rental
Open floor plan home just feet from Lake Superior. Upper-level patio with stairs to the water. The two bedrooms are down the hall and across from each other. Both rooms have large closets. The queen room has view of the lake with sliding glass door to upper patio. The patio is huge and has a table and chairs. The other bedroom has a twin daybed and a double bed. The living room and dining room are one large area. There are 2 couches and a love seat. Sleeps 5 only. Kitchen has electric stove, fridge, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, dishes etc and brand new dishwasher. Grill available on the deck in the summer. There is a TV/DVD and movies. No cable TV. There is a Roku to stream your own shows. There is no A/C. Laundry room in the basement which shares the other bathroom. There is no bathtub in the home - unless you count Lake Superior! Two showers total. The basement is used for our storage and is not part of the rental. We do not have kayaks. I can recommend a local rental.
No pets allowed on the property. This includes people that visit you. No RV hook ups - yes we have had this happen. No parties. NO SMOKING anywhere on the premises.
Speaking of things to do, there is an awesome running/skiing/mountain biking trail system in Marquette known as the Noquemenon. There is also a ski marathon associated with the Noquemenon that is in January. Also near by is the North Country Trail which goes across the entire country. Also, there are so many snowmobile trails here that you can't do it all in one trip. The trails are all groomed. There is also a downhill ski area that is very fun. In addition to the wooded trails there is a paved bike path that runs for miles along the lake shore. The bike path is 1/4 mile from our rental. We really have a great location, that is the best part of this rental. We are about 2 miles from Northern Michigan University.

This was a lovely little getaway on the beach. It needs a bit of updating, cleaning, and privacy and it'll be 5 stars.Nina was very helpful during checkin and during our stay and answering most questions and concerns. Definitely on top of it.We got bit by spiders a couple of times during our stay, the house has a musty smell, and we were asked to turn off lights in the middle of our stay via text, which was off-putting a little bit.But overall, I definitely recommend this place for a quick beach getaway for adults.

Overall, I would not recommend this place at this price point given the amenities that were provided. The house has great views and is in a great location. Outside of that, the house in its current condition looks a little rundown and not well cared for. The house appeared to be in the middle of DYI remodel. The living room ceiling has a huge crack. The main floor shower has no water pressure and is dated. The laundry and hand soaps were watered down and almost empty. The 2nd bathroom is in the basement/garage and is old and cold. The master bedroom sheets felt like cardboard and all the linens smelled funky. The dishwasher was still full when we got there, and not sure if they were clean or dirty. The kitchen counters and stove were dirty and there were no extra trash bags. The text we received was “sorry I haven’t been able to do a final walk through”, all seemed inconsiderate (even though the owners live next door). The request to start the laundry before we left, even though we paid a cleaning fee was a little disappointing.
Typically not this critical, but been to enough of these to know the difference. Place would be better in the summer months where you can take advantage of the deck & beach. More consideration needs to be given to detail and making your guests feel welcomed and comfortable. Hopefully, future renters will have a better experience. The house has potential to be very nice.
