About this house rental
Joseph Hooker (11/13/1814 – 10/31/1879) an American Civil War general for the Union, remembered for his defeat by Confederate General Robert E. Lee at the Battle of Chancellorsville 1863. In order to keep his troops happy, he hired women to take care of them. Thus the name "Hooker." He retired in Sonoma, CA., his home is now Bedrock Wine Tasting south of the plaza and there is a locally made liquor called Hooker House Bourbon that can be purchased at Prohibition Spirits Distillery on the plaza.
