The location, the community, some staff members in particular such as Ruben.
Initially my room was really not that great, it was so close to the kitchen and community spaces with basically no separation so it would be really loud and smelly from very early in the morning and till late at night. The volunteers imo did not make a very good impression and some of the guests were being ignorant (which is not the hostels fault)

Beautiful location right on the beach - about a 25 minutes walk to the main part of town.
Nice communal spaces with seating, hammocks and a nice open shared kitchen.
Plenty of bathrooms to share.
Organisation of tours was quite chaotic, especially for meeting times (they never started when they were supposed to). They encourage you to join the tours they organise and the tours are expensive for what you get from the guide. Our experience across 3 different tours was that the animals were amazing, but the tour guides were generally not super informative or engaged, and none of them started at/around the time we were told to be ready at. The tours were always bigger groups with people from other hostels so I think you could book them for cheaper elsewhere.

I absolutely loved the hostel's location right on the beach, surrounded by the wild nature of Chocó. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean and waking up in such a peaceful environment was a magical experience.
Because the hostel is very isolated, the Wi-Fi connection was quite weak and unstable. It is a great place to disconnect, but it can be a bit challenging if you need to check important things online.

I feel it’s not a hostel for couples, they gave us a room close to the showers and bathrooms, meaning no privacy, we could just hear anyone taking showers at night or early in the morning. The experience was very average and the vibe was kind of weird. We went to another hostel after that which was way better for the same price.
