Excellent house, comfortable and good sized rooms. Good cooking facilities. Lived up to the description on line. The shower in the en suite room was inadequate, giving a very poor flow of warmish water. It was unclear whether I was booking via VRBO or via Cottages.com; this is an issue we have had with previous rentals.

In truth, we cannot actually comment on Craven House because due to Covid restrictions we were unable to take up the booking. This feedback sheet refuses to upload without an overall rating. We have therefore given the property a 10, because when we contacted the caretaker of Craven House he was very genuine and we would not wish to suggest anything negative about the property. This cottage was wonderful.
This cottage was wonderful.
This cottage was wonderful. During these strange times of Covid I was a little apprehensive about staying away from home and wondering what condition the cottage would be in. I didn't need to worry as the cottage was spotlessly clean. I have stayed in a number of holiday cottages and I was amazed how well stocked this cottage was, even down to a slow cooker and everything matched. Everything you needed to make your stay comfortable was there. The cottage is very quirky with steps up or down into most rooms. We were warned that parking close to the cottage might be a problem but there was only once we couldn't get close but nowhere is very far in this lovely little village. The owners where very helpful to the fact that my husband left behind a pair of shoes which they posted to us and wouldn't let us pay for the postage. I would highly recommend a stay in this cottage and we can't wait to go back ourselves and also try out some of the owners other properties. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

This is a spacious cottage with a slightly quirky layout owing to the building’s age.

This is a spacious cottage with a slightly quirky layout owing to the building’s age. This is all to the good as you get the benefit of extra rooms like a snug and utility room/ pantry that you might not otherwise expect. It is very well equipped, benefitting from things like a washing machine and full-sized freezer as well as plenty of crockery, kitchen utensils, etc. There was even a slow cooker. The garden area is small and shared with a couple of other cottages, but even though we were there in high season only one of these was in use and only for a couple of days, so it did not impinge on privacy. The location is good, being adjacent to the village green for those wanting to enjoy more outdoor space besides the garden. The children’s play area is visible from the cottage front windows so older children could go out to play but still be observed. The village shop is just across the road and has a very small amount of basic stock. There is a butcher’s in the village and a honesty system milk and cheese van parked on the green several days a week. The well-known waterfall is under five minutes’ walk away. There is a pub two minutes’ walk up the road. The cottage does not have dedicated parking. It was possible to park adjacent to the green, but not always right near the cottage. We never had to park too far away. A small reservation about this cottage is that it might be difficult to get the heating right in colder months. It has a stove style heater, an instant electric heater in one room, and the rest is on storage heaters that you might struggle to get programmed right if you’re not used to them. The hot water comes from a tank, and so once you’ve run a full bath it might take a short while to get further hot water. I general we really liked this cottage and would happily return.
