About this cottage rental

Situated on Ardura Estate World Heritage Site, renowned for its otters, ideal rural retreat.. On the sheltered south-east coast of Mull, between Craignure and Iona and overlooking the River Lussa and Loch Spelve, these two wonderful properties (refs USK and SAAX) enjoy a glorious secluded position within the 4,000-acre Ardura Estate. Bordered by the River Lussa to the north and east, and protected to the west by the masses of Ben Fhada and Glas Ben, the estate is home to highland cattle and sheep, as well as an abundance of other wildlife, including red deer, eagles, buzzards, seals and otters. The estate is recognised as a European Heritage Site for its otter population and ancient Caledonian oak forest. Craignure (6 miles) has a food shop, garage, post office, tourist information centre, pub and restaurant, and is the car ferry port to Oban. Ardura is a great base for visiting Iona, Tobermory and Duart Castle. Excellent hillwalking in the area. Nearby are a swimming pool, gym, health spa, golf courses and sandy beaches. Shops 6 miles.

We highly recommend that you book your ferry as soon as possible as ferries get very busy. You can call Calmac on 0800 066 5000. A comfortable cottage in a wonderful temperate rainforest location and near to a community woodland. There are lovely local walks and it's a good base from which to explore Mull. The cottage has been recently redecorated and is very well equipped including with board games for adults and children. There is a good library of books. The twin bedroom is more suitable for children or teenagers as the beds are low and close together which presents some problems for anyone older or with mobility difficulties. The bathroom has a bath and hand held shower so again may present accessibility difficulties which should be pointed out in the description on the website.

What an amazing cottage, located on the Ardura Estate on Mull. Nestled in the woodland, well out of the way from the main road. The ideal location for a Honeymoon. The welcome we received was second to none, with Pat making sure that we had everything we needed. The accommodation is well designed and very comfortable, we could happily have stayed for longer. We will definitely return and will recommend this lovely cottage to others! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

House would be perfect and score 10 if not for the toilet - it requires an update, the seat was particularly bad. A good quality modern toilet would make this a 4+ star house. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Amazing holiday on the beautiful island of Mull. It was made extra special with our lovely accommodation at the Butt and Ben. We kept waiting on Goldilocks visiting as it looked like the original 3 bears cottage. It was straight out of a fairytale ❤
