About this house rental
Relaxation Central is a lovely lake side home which sits right on the water with a boat dock and great views in Dunhams Bay in Lake George. Enjoy it any time of the year!
It is a 4 bedroom home with wonderful porches on the bedroom floor and the main floor which look right out on the lake. Grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and sit outside your bedroom on the upstairs porch and enjoy watching the ducks on the lake, or do alittle fishing right on the docks. For early birds take your coffee to the 30 foot porch on the main level or right down to the dock for an up front and personal view of the lake. Evening cocktails and dinner are amaxing on the main porch! There is plenty of room for sitting on the various wicker furniture and or dining at the spacious outddoor dining table. Its a beautiful view of the lake and enjoyable to watch the kayakers or boaters going by as well right from the enclosed screen porch. After dinner watch the sunset from the porch or dock or light up the firepit and cook up some smores! Although there is a smart TV in the livingroom if the weather is good I'm betting you wont use it!
Relaxation Central is less than 15 minutes from exit 21 off the Northway, but a 100 miles away from the crazy lives we all lead. Bring your boat if your have one or rent one if you'd like from the marina right down the road. Swimming is right off the dock and the sunsets are awesome! We have two kayaks and a sunfish which you are welcome to use. We also have a 8 foot round floating sunning tube which is anchored off the dock. There are also a couple of floating tubes and noodles under the house.
If you are visiting us in the fall or winter there are many hiking trails in the area and skiers are within 1/2 hour from Gore Mountain and West Mountain and less than 2 hours from Whiteface Mountain. Hickory Ski Center in Warrensburgh is one of the most original mountains in upstate New York. There are several winter festivals on the lake and if you are a snowmobiiler there are over 100 + miles of trails connected to Lake George, many of which are grommed during the season. Cross country skiing and snowshoeing areas are plentiful in the area.
Take in the local sites or do nothing at all and enjoy a relaxing vacation at the lake! There are 4 bedrooms, one with a king bed and 2 with queen beds and a 4th with a king and a set of bunks.
Part of the house was built in 1895 and was one of the original fishing camps on the lake. We have reclaimed this side as well and this is the location of the 4th bedroom which includes a king and a set of bunks upstairs. It is the only room with has a vented portable air conditioner. Downstairs is a childrens playroom which also includes a pull out double sleeper sofa. This side of the house also has a new bathroom and another medium size dining room which is located in the site of the original camp kitchen. The original camp cooking stove is at the far end of the porch and is often used as a bar in the warmer months. The older camp side of the house does not have heat yet so check with us if you are looking to stay at the house in the cooler months. We do hope to have it heated in the future..
The main house has a full kitchen and living room, a bathroom with a tub shower, and a second bathroom with a toilet and sink. The porch on the main floor has a dining table which seats 8 as well as additional couches and chairs for sitting and eating. There is also a dining room inside which easily sits 6 to 8 and an overflow small room in the back of the kitchen for dining or playing games. The camp side has the 4th bedroom, new bathroom, child's playrom with pull out and the inside dining room in the camp kitchen. Both sides are connected through the main kitchen. There is no door there in the warmer months.
Lakeside living is casual and you'll enjoy your dining on the porches during the early summer to mid fall. There is a barbecue grill for cooking and also a seating area for evening respites. The docks are deep water docks and will easily house a 24 foot boat. Dunhams Bay is a no wake zone so your boat is very protected here. The water is pretty quiet for fishing and swimming too. Bring your poles - we have actually caught a pike right off the dock!

Everything about the house was wonderful. Kim was amazing and checked in both before and during our stay, making sure there were no questions/concerns. Great location! Just miles from the Lake George strip if you wanted to go out, quiet and beautiful if you didn’t want to leave the house. We had a family member who didn’t leave the house the whole time and we had kids who were able to spend time with us, and find places to get away from us - everyone enjoyed the trip.That porch is heaven on earth - you could simply watch the water for hours - true relaxation!Kim was even kind enough to mail a sweatshirt that had been left behind.

We could not be happier with Kim’s beautiful home right on Lake George—it truly is the quintessential Lake George experience! We’re officially spoiled and can’t imagine staying anywhere else in the area. The dock with its lounge chairs and umbrella quickly became our favorite spot, especially during the heat wave—we were in the water almost the entire time!The house itself is lovely and comfortable, and we especially loved the two porches, perfect for soaking in those stunning lake views. My husband and I particularly enjoyed the upstairs porch by the bedrooms, where we started each day with a quiet coffee and sunrise over the water.We’re already dreaming of coming back. Thank you, Kim, for sharing such a magical place!
