Had a wonderful time all bc around

Birthday dinner was very special. Thanks to Julio and the staff at the Paddle House restaurant

Beautiful room and surroundings but food was really sub standard
The nicest room / suite I’ve ever stayed in, beautiful location.
The food and drinks are expensive and I’d have paid it if the quality was right. In 2 weeks travelling around Belize this was by far the worst dining experience. Ceviche on the Jeti: Ceviche served in small bowl in a wooden box, chips supposed to be put in box which didn’t look hygienic. Asked for knife and fork response from Barman “I must order those tomorrow!” Including a pina colada 25 US dollar for this poor service and crap food. Dinner: BBQ Korean chop, very dry, the potato and spinach disgusting. The chef needs to try his food, this was horrible. I think with a cocktail it was 45 US dollar. The service was lacking too as I was going to order a different cocktail and some mint ice cream but had to wait too long for someone to come. Breakfast: ok nothing special Not the first review about the bad food.

Customer service from Julio and Capt Larry was great the politeness and smiles you get are genuine. Room was nice and th
The staff was extremely friendly Capt. Larry greeted us every morning asked us how we were doing and even provided us suggestions for the day activities. Room was nice and clean, ocean views just like it stated in the advertisement. Must go to Ella’s the food there is amazing.
We booked this room because it had direct beach access the pictures show clear blue water but during our stay the water was a dirty brown color with seaweed and a order that hits you before you even walk onto the property. This happens every year around this time after to speaking with the locals it can last for a full month. Front desk try to down play it, but there should be a Disclaimer stating from the last week of Jul to the second or third week of August don’t expect to have beach access or blue water. This was so upsetting as we had to pay additional $280 dollars US, to go to a private island for the day and enjoy what we thought we were getting.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Colonial Inn, our room, the beach and the ocean view were great!
The location was great - the view was terrific - our room was wonderful and looked out across the beach to the ocean! We enjoyed walking on the beach everyday, it goes on for kms. We enjoyed borrowing the free bikes and going for a ride every morning. The Paddle Wheel restaurant was very nice, and had a great location, with open doors to an ocean view. The Big Dock and covered hut was great - really enjoyed it for ocean watching and moon gazing.
The beach had ocean trash on it every day, that some days was raked up, but most days was not raked. The Paddle Wheel Restaurant was too expensive to use for all our meals. The Big Dock was great for jumping off, but the swim-up ladder was impossible to climb back up on!

If you are visiting Belize, head to Hopkins and make sure you go to The Colonial/Jaguar Reef
I loved everything about this property, the staff were incredible, the food, the facilities... we had the best stay ever. We would highly recommend, 20/10 stay at the Colonial. Chris looked after us the whole time we were there and we saw him make an effort and look after all the guests, he always went the extra mile. Captain Larry was also really kind and insightful- he always went out of his way to make recommendations and check we were having a great time.
There wasn't anything that we didn't love, you must stay here

i wish I stayed longer but my trip although short was great and comfortable.
The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was very spacious , clean and comfortable. the sea view was lovely
I traveled on a Monday and the pizza spot was close and the pool side bar closed early but that more about my day of travel rather than being about the property

Scenic views, abysmal service, and food would not recommend
I loved the scenery, it's a very picturesque facility. Plus it's right on the water.
They tried an interesting take on the Garifuna cultural food and, by interesting, I mean terrible. The service was absolutely horrible. I had to go get my own drinks at the bar. The restaurant wasn't busy in the slightest. The food came before the drinks. When I went to pay he asked for the pin and I told him it's a credit card. The Wi-Fi never worked. I asked for help, nothing was done even after I asked multiple times. I requested wash clothes 2 times and it took 3 hours to get to me. For the money, the service is abysmal. Beautiful or not I would never stay here again.
