The house is amazing, with tons of skylights in every room, glass doors to a private courtyard and bedroom patio, beautiful dining table, well appointed luxusious kitchen, large master bedroom (with a fireplace), and huge master bath with separate his & hers vanities, sinks, and walk-in closets. Its also amazingly quiet for being on a busy street - the bedroom is in back and all we heard was the mockingbird, never a car or person. Its very close to great restaurants, the beach, and UCSD/SIO. It is a wonderful retreat!

Lovely home with a great floor plan providing plenty of space for everyone to relax. The 5 minute walking distance from the house to La Jolla Shores wonderful restaurants was a huge plus since parking is a big issue! We had only one glitch trying to get the TV working & the owner was quick to help with process. Hoping to stay in the house again next year!

The house was really nice and in a perfect location to walk to all the La Jolla shops. The rooms were very big, although did not have much sound separation. The entire house was beautiful and we enjoyed the outdoor area.

Spectacular home. Very comfortable and excellent location! We could walk to some little shops to eat and grab coffee and the beach was extremely close by car - but I suppose you could walk if you weren’t carrying a bunch of beach gear. We loved it! And the courtyard was a perfect spot for morning coffee and evening vino! The home was just as advertised, and was perfect for our family’s time in La Jolla! We will definitely be back!

I can’t say enough good things about this rental! The house was just beautiful and was so comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was great to cook in! We grilled often in the beautiful outdoor patio. It was a short walk to the beach and shops and restaurants and just a short drive to downtown LaJolla. Eddie V’s is a must for dinner if you are staying here. The views from the deck, service and food were amazing! Pavilion the local grocery store was great as was the little local mercantile store just a block away for sandwiches and incidentals. We loved everything about our stay here. Our hosts provided everything you could need and the house was very clean! We will defineately rent here again and cannot wait to come back! Highly recommend!

We so enjoyed our stay. The house is lovely -- quite large, comfortable, and well appointed. The natural light in every room is amazing, as is the outdoor patio. We were two couples and found there was ample privacy. The large master has a HUGE bathroom with double sinks and enormous closet, plus shower, jacuzzi, and two toilets. The smaller bedroom is separated from the master by a very heavy sliding door, and has its own toilet and shower. The chef's kitchen has everything you could possible want if you are going to cook. We ate out. Everything is well maintained and of very good quality, sparkling clean. There are many lovely spots to eat just a couple of blocks away in the Village, and of course the beach is just a short walk. Having grown up in La Jolla and coming to see family, our stay couldn't have been better. Thank you!

Angie’s place was lovely! We were traveling with kids so we especially enjoyed the outdoor courtyards, ample indoor space to play, beach toys, and short walk to the beach & playground. The location is great! We found good coffee shops and restaurants, and my husband was able to rent a surfboard, all within a couple blocks. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a better than average rental property with an awesome location. My wife and I rented the property for the entire month of October. A guy at the surf shop called it "Local's Summer." We had beautiful weather almost every day. A short, 5 minute walk to a very nice beach. We spent time at the ocean every day. One block walk to a little commercial district with several restaurants and coffee shops. Five minute drive to Pavilions, one of the nicer grocery stores we've ever shopped. Great kitchen if you want to cook meals at home. Owners were very responsive. We had an issue with the main TV not working, but the owners addressed it promptly. Like any older property, it has its own personality and quirks, but mostly it just has a lot of charm. We were quite comfortable here for a month and would definitely rent here again!

Two dedicated bedrooms, but 2 very large closets (more like a small bedroom) that could be used for a pack-n-play or inflatable mattress. One has a crib. This may be my all-time favorite VRBO! It is in the perfect neighborhood, walking distance from a cute street with fabulous Italian restaurant with outdoor dining. A few blocks from the beach and minutes from La Jolla cove. The design of the house is spectacular, and the courtyard garden so lovely. I didn't want to leave! Will def be back!

This is a fantastic vacation rental. It is very spacious and light filled. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you should need. It has comfortable beds, is walking distance to the beach and is a very short walk to the restaurants on Avenida de la Playa. We were there for Thanksgiving and the owner kindly left a roasting pan for us. I highly recommend this property!

Underadvertised. Excellent house. Excellent design and decor. Filtered water. Hi fidelity analog Speakers throughout. Great kitchen with griddle cast iron and chop sticks. Great natural light. Surfed everyday. Awesome showers both indoor and outdoor. 3 parking spots. 3 blocks away La Jolla Shores. Surf every day and walk/bike everywhere . Please take care of the house, I would like to continue to enjoy this rental the coming years and keep costs low for everyone and make everyone happy. 100/100

The house and location are both great. We had a couple of issues with the owners though. My 6-year old twins were pulling on a locked door that is between a bedroom and one of the bathrooms. This resulted in the door jamb (a single thin strip of wood) splitting and the lock popping out. As my kids are only 6, I think the wood must have been cracked before, but nonetheless I contacted the owner and agreed to pay for the damage. We had 1 week left on our stay. The owner told us their regular contractor was out of town but would come Saturday (the day we checked out) to make the repair. A few weeks after we left we were charged $950 for the repair. The repair involved replacing a single thin strip of wood inside a door frame. The national average cost to replace a door jamb is only $125 (VRBO will not let me post a link, but you can check at HomeGuide) I contacted the owner about why the cost was so high. They did not provide a receipt. They claimed it was because the wood was Douglas Fir, which they could only get from a specialty provider, and contractors charging them a 50% premium to get the work done ASAP. I checked and you can buy Dougals Fir at Lowe’s and Home Depot (just Google it) and in any case you would not pay hundreds of dollars for a single strip of wood, even from a “specialty provider”. Perhaps their regular contractor charged them a 50% premium, but even so I don't see how that gets us close to $950. I learned per VRBO rules the owner can charge you up to $1500 for damages and you really have little if any recourse. VRBO is supposedly investigating my case, but after months I still have not heard back. When I call they keep me on hold for long periods and each new person is clueless about the case, so I gave up. The second issue with this stay was a homeless person defecated by the side of the house (in plain view from the dining room window) on our last day there. I called the owner and offered to report this to the police, but the owner did not want me to. On checkout the following day the owner insisted I put the key in the lockbox that was located on the side of house where the man had defecated (it had not been cleaned up), as his cleaning people could not get in the house otherwise. I believe the owner lives locally and in my opinion should have come over and let the cleaning people in rather than ask me to do that.

My husband and I and our son and his girlfriend spent a wonderful five days in this lovely house, which is beautifully decorated, and also cozy and warm. We especially enjoyed hanging out in the large courtyard. We enjoyed walking to nearby shops and restaurants and most days took long walks on the nearby beach. When we wanted to venture further in San Diego, most places were well under a half hour drive, A highlight of our stay was a late afternoon hike in nearby Torrey Pines Reservation. Angie was quick to respond any time we had a question.

The house is much better than the photos online make it seem and is very large and spacious. Home was very clean, modern and host was excellent with check in instructions. There are several restaurants in walking distance, Scoops has the best ice cream and easy walk to La Jolla Shores beach. Stayed almost a week and no issues. Will definitely be back with the family!

This location is perfect for day golf trips, hikes at Torrey Pines, dinners/drinks a block away and of course the beach!
