Ranch Style, Private Home Near La Jolla Shores - Walk to dining, shops, beach

Exactly as described. We had a few issues figuring out the heat, but once we did everything was perfect. Great place and easy communication with host.

Lovely family home accommodated our group of 6. Owners very responsive to our messages. Enjoyed the spaciousness and comforts of home. Just some traffic noise, but location was convenient and a short drive to the beach.

We love staying at this property. Host is very attentive. House is clean and well maintained. Such a cute beach house with lots of character.

We had the best stay in La Jolla. This home is beautiful and comfortable. We had four adults and six kids... and had plenty of space. We enjoyed several meals cooked in the well stocked kitchen and ate in the back yard with ample space to dine and play. It's a fifteen minute walk to a great beach and the owners left boogie boards and beach towels which was so nice! We were in town for a soccer tournament and the location was spectacular to the fields. Next trip we will absolutely stay here again.

We had a wonderful relaxing time and enjoyed the house and the beautiful backyard. This is the second time we stayed in the house and the location is centrally located to the beach and other points of interest.

This is such a beautiful home. It has a larger plot than most in the area. Been staying here pretty much every year. The owners are so responsive and a pleasure to do business with.

Susan’s house is lovely, and was more than enough space for our family (4 adults, two toddlers, and a dog!) she was on top of communication, and the property was well-stocked with anything you would need to cook with. We only stayed in for breakfast, and the breakfast nook was perfect for our two young kids. The backyard and doggie door was heaven for our dog, who quickly learned she could let herself in/out as needed throughout the day. The photos and description are accurate, the rooms are a good size, and both bathrooms have ample space. There are two pack n plays for little tots in one of the bedrooms, which was super useful for our family! The central heating thermostat take a little bit of patience, but we figured it out after a few minutes. There are a few stray cobwebs here and there, but nothing that a thorough cleaning wouldn’t catch. We came in winter so didn’t make too much use of the backyard or take advantage of the property’s proximity to the beach, would definitely come back in the summertime. Perfect layout if you have kids in bed, and you want to watch TV / play games on the other side of the house. Great house for a family or several families looking for to getaway for a week!

There are 4 different large common areas in the house and yard for group interaction - the place is much bigger than it looks. Love the inside/outside vibe. Fenced backyard for dog/kids. Beds very comfy. Every bedroom has its own climate control and TV. And don’t get me started on the toilets … love them!

This home with its back and front yards was a beautiful environment for my family to relax in. The weather caused some indoor time. The kitchen, furniture and beds provided a comfy feel so we could enjoy good food and conversation. Susan, our host was quickly responsive and helpful throughout our long weekend. The home is within walking distance to the beach and shopping. We had a great time and will return again.

We had a wonderful time. I am familiar with the area which is why I chose the house. I said it needs attention for a few reasons. The outdoor carpet under the table is shredded and a hazard. Surprised it was left there. When I stripped my bed I saw that it didn’t have a mattress pad and the mattress was stained. I don’t want to go on or be too detailed I know from experience that rentals are hard to maintain. Hope this is taken as intended - feedback. The house has more positives than negatives. It just needs attention.

Pulling up the house it has nice curb appeal. There is plenty of space indoors and a very large back yard, although in need of cleaning. There is a new refrigerator, a good stove, microwave and a nice breakfast area. The master bedroom is large with a nice bathroom and the most incredible automated toilets, all a plus. The fourth bedroom is outside the main house and through a laundry room. We found the house very dated and we encountered maintenance issue that the host argued about how everything previously worked flawlessly and stated it was not much an inconvenience. After 15 years staying at VRBOs, this was the first time I was very disappointed. Would I stay here again, NO. Would I recommend this house to a friend, NO. Would I recommend the host as someone interested in providing hospitality, NO.

There were 7 adults and two small granddaughters, ages 2 and 6, that stayed in this house for one week. We also had our two small Cavalier King Charles dogs too. It was definitely big enough for the entire family and we did not get in each other's way unless we wanted to. Dinner was in the back yard every night and breakfast was sitting the the kitchen nook. I have two Chefs in the family and they were happy with the cooking utensils. The dogs enjoyed the run of the yard, which was completely fenced in with a large amount of grass. The walk to the beach only took about 20 minutes, but it sure beats driving in the the traffic. Communication with the owner was simple and friendly. Thanks again for a great vacation.

Best house I’ve ever booked on this site. Everything about the house is fantastic - and the location is even better for getting everywhere in San Diego. It will be at the very top of the list next time we come back.

Beautiful home. Exactly what I would do in my own home. Large, well kept. Stunning yard. Bonus....heated toilet seats..yes...upgrades in the bathrooms. I would highly recommend. Location is very good. It was a pleasure to stay and if you select this property you will not be disappointed.

Large house with plenty of room. We ended up not needing the forth bedroom. Yard is great, kids loved playing in it. Very pet friendly home. Easy access, good location, and good parking.

This house was the star of our wedding week (besides the bride, of course). It surpassed all of our expectations and was not only beautiful and spacious, but the best equipped travel rental EVER! It had everything we needed, including an espresso machine, which kept us all going and happy! We did a lot of cooking and baking which was possible only because of well-stocked kitchen. The house is private and kind of tucked away, but at the same time, close to EVERYTHING. We were a couple of minutes from cafes, the Taco Stand, and the best fish sandwiches around (El Pesacdor). And the airport was conveniently located too, which was nice because I had to make many trips there. And the gorgeous rocky beaches and barking seals were also close by. There were plenty of bedrooms, a delightful kitchen nook, and the grounds/landscaping were exquisite—even a tree swing, which was so fun. So many rentals are stripped down and bare and not equipped, but this was like walking into my best friend's home. We will recommend this home to all our friends traveling to San Diego and hope to return on future trips to the area.

The host always communicated with us in a timely manner! Her house was very clean and had everything you would need for a wonderful vacation! We will be back! We have been vacationing to La Jolla for many years and will stay here again!

This property was lovely for a small family vacation. La Jolla Shores beach is about a 20-min walk mostly downhill - recommend walking rather than trying to park at the beach during high season :) The outdoor spaces are nicely landscaped with plenty of seating for enjoying the San Diego weather! There is a bit of road noise which we got used to after a day or so. We were very happy with our stay!

Nice property. Easy to get around La Jolla

This home/property is as advertised and an excellent location/layout for a group. The older ranch style home offers space, plenty of sleeping arrangements and privacy as needed. The beautiful back yard and large covered patio with numerous seating options are great. Numerous fans and A/C units in the bedrooms were used extensively during our visit - and the weather was wonderful. La Jolla Shores Beach (ideal for families) is just a short drive away. TIPS - our group spent hours playing badminton in the back yard, use the provided boogie boards/beach chairs or bring your own, clean up with the outside shower -- using the multiple routes over Soledad Mountain are good options for getting to/from the Pacific Beach area.

I love this house. One of the most spacious and accommodating in LA Jolla that I have rented. My family come back often. The owner, Susan, is wonderful and always available to answer any questions.

This home was perfect for our son's wedding in La Jolla. Close to the venue, walking distance to La Jolla Shores Beach! Very spacious and comfortable home. Lovely relaxing backyard and patio where we ate our meals and relaxed!
