About this house rental
Our 3,300 square foot home features 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and is on 4 acres located 15 miles (20 minutes) from downtown Durango at the base of the magnificent La Plata Mountains, and adjacent to the La Plata River. The adjacent river and the proximity to the backcountry richness of La Plata Canyon are unparalleled for their recreational diversity and extraordinary vistas. Fishing, hiking, backcountry skiing, four-wheeling and too many other outdoor pursuits to name are right out the back door of this exceptional property.
The West is all about open spaces meeting spectacular mountain vistas. This Colorado cabin gives you both the room to roam and breathe in the fresh mountain air, and a proximity to area amenities that offers almost unbelievable convenience given the home’s amazing rural setting. Many homes offer the accouterments of the western lifestyle with their interior and log appointed decor. This home completes the package and is the genuine article of western living.
The house features a generously equipped gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances and 2 living spaces making it perfect for multiple families and also features a pool table, tons of outdoor space and gas BBQ Grill.

2nd Bedroom - Queen Bed (2nd Level)
3rd - Queen Bed (2nd Level)
4th - Bunk Beds (Single over Double) and twin (2nd Level) with TV
5th - 3 Twins with Ensuite Bath(Trundle Bed - Main Level)
Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Beautiful property and the mountains were breathtaking. My only issue (and this was my fault for not noticing when I booked) was the lack of air conditioning. I understand these higher elevation homes dont require A/C but better fans should be installed to circulate air. House was very warm but most of the time we weren't inside. Colorado was amazing and we will be back. Thank you for a great place to stay during our vacation.

The property and location was beautiful! We were disappointed that the yard was not taken care of so we couldn’t be outside playing games. We had issues with the cleanliness of the house, dead bugs, cobwebs and flies everywhere. There was a propane leak that took 2 1/2 days to find before it was fixed, which caused some inconvenience. The property did make that right and we were very grateful! The water heaters were off and are not all in plain sight. We had to search to find them and get them turned back on. There is plenty to do in the area and we took advantage of the recommendations of the property managers. The pictures are a little dated, and the property could use a few updates and coats of paint.

Everything was great, except it was a little warm and the yard hasn’t been mowed all year.
They said it was a short walk to the river you couldn’t get through. It was so overgrown and trees had falling in the path. My husband went through and cleared it.
