About this house rental
Note: 4WD/AWD is required in winter between December and late March.
There is a hot tub on the patio but it is NOT OPERATIONAL.
Mountain paradise at 7,000 feet of elevation. This is the quintessential mountain log home providing roomy comfort for many guests with six bedrooms, five baths, multiple decks and patios plus expansive views of surrounding woods and mountains just 7 minutes to Historic downtown Durango.
This home makes a splendid gathering place for families with two master suites, four additional bedrooms, a spacious, open living/dining/kitchen floor plan, den with pool table and media room, loft with additional TV spot, plus multiple patios and a huge main deck.

Master Bedroom - King (Upstairs) w/bath
2nd Master - King (Main Level) w/bath
3rd Bedroom - Double (Upstairs)
4th Bedroom - Double (Bottom Level)
5th Bedroom - Double (Bottom Level)
6th Bedroom - 2 Twins (Upstairs Level)
There is also a 7th sleeping space with a queen bed off the main living space that has a room divider screen vs a proper door (it is not advertised as a bedroom but certainly can be used as such).
The home itself is perched on a hilltop vantage point overlooking a large mountain meadow valley that is teaming with wildlife throughout all seasons. It is common to see elk, deer, wild turkey, fox, many varieties of birds including hawks and eagles, and even the occasional black bear from the comfort of many outdoor and indoor vantage points.
Consistent with most Colorado mountain resorts, the home does not offer air-conditioning. Most homes are equipped with either a ceiling fan, box fan and at least one opening window to assist with climate control..
Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Was here for a wedding and was able to get the whole family and kiddos in one place. Felt like a really relaxing and enjoyable weekend with views of the trees all around us. Played games and explored the town and train rides to Silverton! Highly recommend and we will be back!

This is a secluded Hugh 3 story log cabin house with great views 5 miles west of Durango. Family enjoyed house and location. Inside is spectacular and well equipped. There are very large decks on ground and first floor. Access to house includes a 1/3 mile steep rough wash board gravel shelf road. Saw lots of animals - deer, turkey. Only negatives were no A/C made 2/3 floors very uncomfortable in afternoon/evenings due to 90 degree weather, very odd and inconvenient only freezer in ground floor laundry room, did not supply hand or dish soap, no ice maker - bring bags, no check out instructions provided and owner did not respond to question.

The cabin is located on a beautiful property with close proximity to Durango. The decks are lovely and the table and chairs provided are nice. Unfortunately this property has been neglected and is in dire need of attention. Many of the mattresses, pillows, bedding and overall amenities need to be changed. Some of the mattresses sink to the middle in a v shape, the pillows are extremely old, the bedding is uncomfortable, mismatched and feels dirty. The kitchen is overstocked, disorganized and cluttered. There is not one area you can put your items except the countertops. The area rugs and furniture pillows are torn, frayed and need to be replaced. The blinds need attention or replaced . The old, non functioning hot tub needs to be repaired or removed. Before renting this place I would read the reviews. After getting there it was very clear they were accurate and I wish I would have paid more attention. It saddens me to leave this review as this cabin has infinite possibilities but it really needs updating and cleaning for the rate they are charging.
