About this house rental
Castle Island Getaway is literally a 30 seconds walk from the scenic and beautiful uncrowded Pebble Beach of Crescent City, California. Our guests stay in a private home with the main living area up one flight of stairs that includes an updated kitchen & bathroom. You'll enjoy views of our wooded acreage, with the sounds of the ocean and local wildlife ever present during the day and night. It's a short walk to the beach access and bicycles are also available for our guests to enjoy a cruise along Pebble Beach and view the wildlife refuge, Castle Island. Or just relax in the quiet peacefulness of our little corner of Del Norte County, we call 'the Pearl of the Northwest'.
Upon arrival our guests may contact the hosts who can assist with dinner plans and information about things to do and see in our area. We strive to assure our guests make the most of their vacation in this gateway to the Redwoods.
The upstairs living area has a smart TV, dining area and fully stocked kitchen for your convenience.
The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed with a pillow top for added comfort. The windows offer views of the wooded acreage, sounds of the ocean and viewing of local wild life. There is ample closet space for extended stays. There is a smaller bedroom downstairs with a daybed that converts to two singles better suited for kids or young adults, with an additional bathroom and laundry area.
The amazing Redwoods are a year round pleasure in Del Norte County! A short fifteen minute drive east from our beach home brings you to Jedediah Smith Redwoods National & State Park. The area is also known for the pristine beauty of
the famous wild and scenic Smith River gorge. Great for fishing, rafting & swimming.
Our spring and summer activities include biking, hiking, kayaking, sailing, surfing, as well as wild flower and wildlife viewing. Salmon and steelhead fishing is available October through February. Whale watching occurs March through May and depending on the high seas November through December. The arrival of the Aleutian Geese to Castle Island as they migrate north is a spectacular event from February through March. Nature is abundant in Del Norte County all year long and the easy beach access offers our guests the chance to explore tide pools and view spectacular sunsets along Pebble Beach.

We stayed at 4 places for this coastal road trip and this home was our favorite! It was so clean and fresh, bright and beautiful. It's a very quiet, quaint, well maintained and manicured area. The view of the ocean from the dining room (and living area) was awesome. There was a variety of k-cup coffees/teas and everything you would need to make a meal (even though we didn't). The host had a binder with several restaurant options in the area including menus and manuals for appliance and anything proveded at the property. The host reached out by text to see if we were using the trundle and had it pulled out and ready when we arrived. We literally had to do nothing except bring out bags in and load them upon leaving. Having two full bathrooms spoiled us. Hearing the ocean spoiled us. Being a two-minute walk from a beautiful sitting view at the ocean spoiled us. 100% would recommend and I hope to stay here again in the future with my family. This was a girlfriends trip...but I'd love to share this experience with my husband and kids. They would be in heaven..and so will you.

Home was cute and clean! Hosts were very communicative and live across the street?There is no door on the master bedroom upstairs and the wall is partially open to the kitchen, so don’t plan on any privacy if traveling with others. 2nd bedroom is tight if the 2nd twin bed is set up. Leaves little room for movement but the laundry room is connected and a little larger so they were able to keep their things in there. Property is lush with greenery and flowers and is beautiful!

Great use of the bikes to go to the lighthouse! Flexible check in and great communication. Very friendly and helpful!
