Wyndham Kona Hawaiian Resort, Large Lanai, 2Pools, 5min walk to beach

Very comfortable and clean. Units are starting to look a little dated but grounds are beautiful. Close to town but just far enough away from the crowds.

Nice accommodations. Staff was very friendly and responsive. The room was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed.

When we arrived we were out in a room overlooking the parking lot even though we had booked from an owner whose place was by the pool. When I tried to explain they told us they didn’t know who the person was and the parking lot room was better. We finally got them to move us. Neighbors below had 12+ people in their room partying until 2 am first night. Sprinklers around the property come on in the late evening so returning from dinner by 8 PM both nights we had to climb through bushes and detour through plants to avoid sidewalks or we would get wet. Hot tub was cooler temperature than my normal bath water. Our flight Thanksgiving Day was at 3 PM so we requested a late checkout. We were preparing for VIP arrival so we had to be out by 11 AM. Management would better off denying request on the idea of not wanting employees to work later on thanksgiving than telling guests there are more important guests than you. Housekeeping piled supplies outside our door (dropping them with thumps and taking up the entire porch bench) by 9 AM - a full hour before normal checkout. They make you feel very unwelcome and unless you have young kids or large families and want chaos and noise over Hawaiian relaxation avoid this place at all costs! Next time we will stay at a much nicer and more welcoming place.
