About this house rental
An ideal 2-story mountain home featuring an open floor plan on the main floor opening up onto a large deck with very private forest views perfect for entertaining or relaxing. The house is situated on a very quiet street. Beyond the great room there's lots of private space in two master bedrooms and a large family room which is on the lower level.
The main living area comprises a great room including the living room, dining room and kitchen. The floor to ceiling windows let in lots of sunlight and mountain forest views. Enjoy the entertainment center with a 65" flat screen Smart HDTV with full streaming capabilities, relax in front of the wood burning fireplace or entertain at the large kitchen island with bar stools and large dining room table. Kitchen comes fully equipped with all essentials and is well stocked with staples such as spices, condiments, cooking oils, etc.
There is also a separate living space downstairs - the Family Room with a large screen TV, gas pot belly stove (currently out of commission), games, videos and wet bar creating a great 2nd hang out space for families with kids/teenagers or folks needing more space. There are also lots of board games to choose from.
The bedrooms on the main floor are the Master Bedroom with a walk-in closet and full bath with a tub, separate shower and double vanity. It has a beautiful Cal King 4-post bed and opens up on to the front deck for the morning sun. The other bedroom on this floor is the bunk room with two bunk beds and plenty of room for kids to hang out and play games. This bedroom has an adjoining full bath with vanity and a tub shower. The third bedroom is downstairs and is the 2nd Master with a queen bed with it's own full bath, vanity and tub shower. And the Family Room also has two futon couches that can sleep additional people.
We are situated in the Tahoe Donner community which has several heated pools, including a lap pool, kids water slide, four jaccuzzis, sauna and steam rooms, workout and massage facilities, a beautiful golf course, tennis center, horse back & mountain bike riding, it's own alpine ski resort and tons of cross country and phat tire bike trails. Guest passes allow access for up to 6 people at a time to pool, rec center, tennis, trails, beach club and more. In fact, you can get on your bike or strap on your hiking shoes or x-country skis and hit the trails right from our back yard. There's also a large open space behind our house that's great for long sled runs!
Tahoe Donner is just off Highway 80 in Truckee so you are just minutes away from lots of casual & fine dining, two large grocery stores, hardware stores, cafes, etc. And the large ski & recreational resorts (Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Sugar Bowl and Northstar) are all within a 15-25 minute drive.
Tahoe Donner is changing its amenity access policies. Starting in 2026 there will be blackout dates for short term renters to the private amenities including the weekends of MLK, President’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th week, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas/New Year’s holiday (12/24/26 to 1/3/27). All public amenities will be accessible 365 days of the year. Day use fees will be in effect - go to TD website for up-to-date rules and fees.
Come up and enjoy a weekend or week of relaxing, adventure and the fresh mountain air. Guest passes will give you free access to most amenities for a discounted day-long rec fee and discounted rates for chargeable items like golf, horseback riding and downhill skiing. Stayed here with two families with young kids and it was so perfect. We loved the large living room and many sleeping spaces. The playroom downstairs and the hot tub were a hit with the kids. There is a large open area behind the home which is great for exploring and for our littles we were able to sled down the driveway. The home has a ton of amenities and had a lot of things that we had forgotten. Henrik was a great host who communicated regularly. We loved our stay!

I booked this home for a long weekend with two of my kids, who brought a friend each, plus another dad. The room with two bunk beds worked perfectly for the four kids to share, while each dad got a room.The bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen were all clean, modern, and functional. We did not actually cook this trip, but the kitchen was well-appointed. The knives could use a refresh, maybe.There is a game table downstairs that was fun for a bit. A sledding hill immediately out the back door was a treat. The driveway is a bit steep, so be prepared for that.Henrik was helpful and responsive throughout.

This is our second time at Henrik's place. The backyard goes up to a large hill, maybe some kind of utility easement that is amazing for snow play and sledding. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. Very nice to have en suite bathrooms off of the primary bedrooms, great for 2 families with a bunk room for the kids.
