The layout of the cabin was perfect with a spectacular view. We did see bears on two different occasions. It does need a little updating (living area furniture is old and hard to get up from) and there were no potholders or kitchen towels in the kitchen. The mountain road going to the cabin is really scary in several different places. Given all this I really feel the cabin was somewhat overpriced. I don’t see myself staying there again. We vacated the cabin two days early because of the stress of driving to it.

All the comforts of home with the luxury of a hotel. Beautiful view. Very top of the smokies. It's truly an adventure. Owners are quick to respond. Everything from check out to check in was easy and seamless. Drive up and down the mountain was the trickiest part. Highly recommend.

Everything was great. My only complaints are nit-picking. If you are not from the mountains, know that the roads to get to the cabin are terrifying. The cabin itself is a bit dated and the dishwasher is obnoxiously loud but nothing that lowers a rating. The fireplace should come with directions. Otherwise an amazing view, comfortable beds, and a truly remarkable vacation.

It scary at night because of the forest that’s right in front, but besides that it’s really good to stay at. Had an amazing time, and it was equipped with all the stuff we needed. It was very high up, but we did get to se snow because of that.

Clean, nice, well taken care of, well stocked with necessities. Got there at night in the rain and couldn’t find it. Had to go back down the mountain and get a hotel room for two nights. Other than that it was terrific.

The place was very clean and peaceful, the hot tub was great after hikes. BUT, the drive up the mountain to the place was steep and long so we would plan only one trip down a day and never in the dark.

The rental was everything described in the listing. We love the our place, very roomy, comfortable, hot tub was great and the view was awesome. The kitchen had most of the essentials but needs scissors. The drive up to the cabin was challenging with many curves and steep hills but drive slow and be very cautious. Other than the drive the cabin was very warm and inviting.

The house was very nice and perfect for our family. The area was a lot of fun. Be warned though the drive to get up to the cabin is not for the weak hearted. Only thing I would recommend is bringing your own pan if you plan on doing some cooking, the ones the house provides are very cheap and don't heat well.

We loved our stay at Above and Beyond! The chalet was comfortable, well equipped and quiet. It's very high up as others have noted, but we got used to the drive and its twists and turns. Bears and cubs abounded - we saw some most every day during our stay. We loved the hot tub. Although high up, the trees blocked the view, however we enjoyed the privacy. Highly recommend for a comfortable place to stay after a day of exploring!

This cabin was beautiful and comfortable Kitchen is just the right size and well stocked with pretty much anything you need to make meals at the cabin. My son and friends enjoyed the hot tub. We did have a bear encounter so be prepared for that. The biggest thing is the steep climb and curvy roads to the mountain. We did not know how curvy and steep the climb was and we arrived after dark and it was raining. It made the trip up the mountain harrowing for me and nerve-wracking for the rest of the group. If you rent this cabin plan accordingly for the steep climb and curvy roads up to the cabin. Other than that it was wonderful. Oh and poor cell reception in the cabin. You don't really get good cell reception till you get about half way back down the mountain.

The cabin floorplan is one of the best we have seen. The road up to the cabin is a bit hairy. Since the big fire in 2016 thre are no trees in many places and no guard rails. It gives you an uneasy feeling to come around a curve and stare off into space. That said we enjoyed our stay. The cabin was fine.

Charming and lovely, some might call it dated but we definitely enjoyed staying there. Two separate master suites that gave plenty of privacy. Hot tub was easy to use and we really enjoyed it! Excellent Wi-Fi coverage with cable and 3 tvs! Kitchen was WELL stocked with dishes, pans, and utensils. It sits back away from other cabins and gave a lot of privacy. We also saw deer and wild turkeys right at the front door. You don’t see that every day

Very clean cabin. We enjoyed the view from the balcony above the peak of the Ski Mountain Coaster! Very steep climb to get to this cabin but well worth it. We have already made reservations for next fall and looking forward to it!

Once you get over the drive up the mountains it is absolutely beautiful! The cabin was so cute. Loved everything about it. We had everything we needed. Rooms were very spacious and enjoyed the hot tub every night watching the sunset. We would totally rent this cabin again.

That's how far up we were! Had I known it was so high up, I would have picked a different location. The space was beautiful, perfect for two couples with two bedrooms on each side of the living room. It was fairly warm on our way up there, but snowed overnight - a huge surprise! I am afraid of heights, so walking the dog in the snow near the cliffs made me shake. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable stay.

A winner for two retired couples with the split bedroom floor plan. The shower in one bedroom was a trickle, not satisfactory at all. The view was beautiful, seeing both sides of Jackson Mtn. with fall foliage. Getting to and down from the top of the mtn with the turns and steep inclines was a bit scary.

Overall we had a good experience and the place was exactly as it looked in the photographs. We actually saw the best fall colors view from our house as opposed to all the drives we did over our 2 days trip. But we had some challenges locating the cabin at night (signs were not clearly visible) and this is something that can be improved upon

If you want solitude and natural surroundings, this is the place for you. The property is older and there are some small inconveniences, as such. Some repairs need to be made and the water pressure isn't great, the front two burners on the range don't work. The carpet and decks need cleaning. The LR furniture is a bit worn...beware one chair will flip you backward!

Outdated, and poor working amenities

Just looking at the property, and inside it looks lovely. However, we killed 4 or 5 roaches, my children's feet were black from being barefoot on the carpet, the hot tub did not work correctly (even though maintenance said it was fine) the jets do not stay on, low jets will run, but high jets shut off after a few minutes and will not just kick on. It was a vicious and annoying cycle to try and get the jets to come back on. Not relaxing. The upholstered chair in the living room, is not a recliner, however it does lean back, and if you're not careful it will lean back too far and you'll flip. My husband and 4 year old both fell out. Also, someone prior to us had an animal because pet hair was everywhere. I cannot get anyone from management to call me back. I will never ever rent from them again, and all of our biker family will know not to rent from Jackson Mountain Homes.
