About this house rental

The house is surrounded by live oak and pecan trees with a little deck leading down to a rock patio.

We have a fire pit as well as an outdoor grill.

700 Sq ft of living space, 1 queen-size bed ,1 twin and 2 fold out sofas. Fully-equipped kitchen, full size four burner electric range with oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, blender, pots and pans, eating utensils, plates and glasses....Fully equipped!

The cottage has A/C and heating as well as a cozy wood burning stove. (bring your own wood), Ceiling fans in every room. The bathroom is fully-equipped as well. We provide sheets and towels.

Just a short walk to the crystal clear river. Fishing, swimming and wading for the little ones. It's common to find fossils while exploring along and in the river. Wonderful hiking and bike riding throughout the ranch.

The cabin is REMOTE. We are 35 miles from a grocery store, 18 miles from gasoline and convenience food. Bring everything you will need. Fill up your gas tank in Uvalde, Leakey, or Sabinal.

At night the stars are like millions of diamonds in the sky. Come and enjoy the stargazing., I know you will! Hummingbird and Butterfly watching opportunities!

Good afternoon, My trip had to be canceled due to two members of my party becoming ill the night before we were scheduled to leave. On Thursday night, 07/14, I sent a reschedule request to the host, but have not heard back from him. In fact, I have reached out to the host at least three times from the time I booked the reservation and have never received a response to any of my messages. Is it common practice for hosts to ignore guests who spend their hard earned money on their properties? I would just like to know if my reschedule request was accepted or not, please. Thank you! My granddaughter and my two 18 year old granddaughters came for our annual trip to Garner area and as usual had the time of our lives! The property was like a second home to us in no time at all! Everything we needed to be comfortable was made available to us and the view across the riverbed to the mountains was second to none. Peaceful, playful, get away! We loved it!

We stayed at an awesome secluded cabin on 1 mile of the river. The water was not too deep. It came up to my waist in deepest part. Great place to take your little ones. I enjoyed the water as well. Plenty to swim in. And there is literally no one out there while you walk down to the path to the river. Perfect get away for a family with younger children. Will be back for sure!!!

We had a blast exploring the dry frio river daily. The cabin is on the river bed and easy access to the river. Beautiful views of the sunset fading behind the hills. Dale was very helpful and communicated excellent. House was just perfect for our family of five and spending a week disconnected did wonders for our family !!!

Wonderful location and quaint cozy cabin. A beautiful spot under the oaks near the river. Deer come each evening to graze. Quiet and even tho there are cabins next door, we had the place to ourselves in the quiet of winter. Blanca set out loungers so we could view the stars. Thanks Blanca! We adored your miniature horses too!

The location was great and quiet. Surrounded by nature and a shallow river within walking distance. While in Uvalde, we went over to Garner State Park and visited the Frio Bat Cave. Highly recommend both. This VRBO was comfortable and had everything you would need, just make sure you get groceries before arriving! The nearest store/gas station is about 25-30 min. We let the kids have the beds. The fold out couch was not comfortable, but we knew what we were getting ourselves into. An inflatable bed is the route we should of gone. Minor inconvenience. While here, expect to see plenty of deer, cows, turkeys! There is also a hill nearby you can hike up, although it is steep our entire family did it (children ages 4 to 8). This hill allows for a great view.

Overall the location and the cabin is beautiful but could improve, the fridge and kitchen was a little dirty and the check in process was confusing, I wish the owner could had answered or messaged me about the check in. But we had a great time and will like to come back!!

Let my start by saying that we stayed at this location last year, that’s how I knew the check in process. As we drove up I knew something was wrong there was garbage all over the yard and garbage bags over flowing the trash cans. The door was unlocked we took a look in and the place hadn’t been cleaned from the previous guests. We had to drive away to get cell service to call the owner (Dale) but it kept going to his voicemail. Luckily we ran into a couple after a while who showed us where he stays, mind you it’s a ranch and they all know each other. I was able to knock and a family member of Dale came and spoke with me letting me know he was passed out drunk! She was so sweet and sorry about the situation, but there was nothing she could do. My kids were looking forward towards their stay that we had planned for months and we couldn’t just say let’s go somewhere else not only because financially, but this whole COVID situation! If it were just my husband and I, I would’ve just left, but my kids would’ve been crushed! My husband and I spent the entire day cleaning and sanitizing the cabin before we let the kids in, we stayed at the river the entire time just went in to sleep. I’m furious!!! The owner won’t reply to my messages and I’ve already opened up a case with vrbo as well, who was able to confirm my story, but is currently waiting for a response from Dale as well. Please save your family and yourself from this happening to you!
