Perched on a former loster farm and surrounded by a huge deck, this charming cottage offers spectacular views of Southwest Harbor and the mountains of Acadia National Park. You will enjoy the open floor plan featuring picture windows and a massive hearth of local stone. The back deck provides serene views of the boats coming into the harbor and sometimes you can spot a bald eagle soar overhead.

Visit spectacular Acadia National Park for hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, or boating in the lakes. The park programs offer ranger-led nature hikes and wildlife viewing, or you can relax at the beach. Just a short drive across the island is Bar Harbor with a variety of tourist activities to enjoy.

The "cottage" is actually the top floor of a larger structure that had a lobster processing plant on the lower level at some point. (It's not operational now.) The interior space is quite nice, with a spacious kitchen and living room, along with modern bathrooms. Our one major complaint was that one bedroom can be accessed only by going through another bedroom. For a family, that might be fine, but when unrelated individuals are involved, it creates some awkwardness and inconvenience. A floor plan or at least mention of this idiosyncrasy should be on the listing. Also, while it wasn't a problem for our group, individuals with mobility issues should know that the place can be accessed only by walking up a flight of stairs. Altogether, though, this was a good place for our group to stay, and we appreciated the convenient, close access to many area attractions.

Smoke coming up from the lower level, people smoking in the shop below. Thought this was a non smoking unit.
Grounds outside are nothing to look at.
Not enough furniture for night lounging.
