Just over an hour’s drive from La Rochelle, Nantes and Poitiers airports and within easy reach of Ferry Ports and the TGV (high-speed train) network, The Farmhouse and Stables at La Blatière make a beautiful setting for you and all your friends and family.
Set in half an acre of land with fruit trees, plants and lawns and surrounded by winding lanes and farmland, the LA BLATIÈRE GITES make the perfect location for large family or friend get-togethers (sleeps 10). It consists of two fully equipped holiday homes (THE FARMHOUSE GITE and THE STABLES GITE) complete with a 10m covered inground swimming pool with inflatables, free superfast fibre Wifi, books, DVD's, bikes, fitness/games room, indoor and outdoor games, terraces, outdoor dining areas, BBQ and gardens an outdoor infrared sauna and a Type 2 Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Point. Our little part of south-western France also boasts 2400 hours of sunshine a year making it the second sunniest part of France and the perfect place to enjoy an all-year round holiday and the peace and tranquility of country living but still be close to all that Poitou-Charantes has to offer.
This perfect, easy-to-reach location means there are so many wonderful things to do on your doorstep or slightly further afield. A leisurely stroll will take you into the local village for a coffee or to pick up a baguette or 10 mins along the road try Go Karting or the Parc Aventure with the kids, fishing at Pescalis or Moncoutant with its restaurants and market. Then just a little further away you can explore the beautiful cites of Niort, Poitiers and La Rochelle, go golfing at Bressuire enjoy the excitement of Futurescope, step back in time at Puy du Fou. The enchanting Farmhouse at La Blatière sleeps 6 and features a magical mezzanine master bedroom with exposed beams, an iron bedstead and en-suite. Enjoy long lazy days dining beneath the wisteria covered terrace, then light the wood burning stoves for cosy nights in.

• Mezzanine master bedroom with king size bed, beamed ceiling, dressing alcove, en-suite shower room with WC.

The outdoor terrace with its pergola with grape vines and fairy lights is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine while the sun goes down.

Premières impressions sur la propriété, plus belle encore que ce que nous avons pu voir dans les photographies. Propriétaires extrêmement sympathiques et tout à fait disponible au moindre soucis.
Endroit calme, idéal pour se couper du monde le temps de quelques jours.
Rien à redire sur notre séjour, il fut parfait et nous en remercions Lesley et Paul de nous avoir accueilli !
First impression on the property : it looks even better than on the pictures.
The owners were sincerely kind and available at any goven time if we had a problem.
The property is very calm and ideal to cut yourself from the world for a few days.
Nothing to say about our stay other than it was perfect and we thank Lesley and Paul for having us !

Accueil exceptionnel des propriétaires (Paul et Lesley, couple d'anglais souriants et aux petits soins pour leurs hôtes), avec un panier contenant boissons et nourriture pour bien débuter le séjour, des fleurs pour agrémenter le gite...
Logement décoré avec soin, linge de lit et de maison fournis (y compris les serviettes de piscine!), mise à disposition de jeux de plein air, pour la piscine ou de vélos, tout y est, on se sent vite comme chez soi!
C'est un lieu très reposant, on s'y sent bien à l'intérieur (pour un apéro dans le salon à côté d'un feu de cheminée), comme à l'extérieur (sous les patios pour trouver de l'ombre en journée ou éclairé par des lanternes à la tombée de la nuit).
La piscine est très agréable car chauffée, spacieuse, avec de nombreux transats et bouées ou jeux pour en profiter au maximum.
Merci à Lesley et Paul pour leur accueil, on reviendra sûrement!

Très bon séjour en famille (nous avions loué la ferme et l’étable), dans un ancien corps de ferme très bien restauré. Les logements sont très bien équipés (vaisselle, drap, serviette, jouets, jeux, etx…). L’environnement est calme et reposant. La piscine chauffée et couverte est à bonne température et entretenue quotidiennement par Paul (avec des bouées gonflables à disposition, idéale pour les enfants).
Les propriétaires sont très accueillants, agréables, arrangeants et très avenants, et bien qu’habitant à proximité ils restent très discrets. Un petit panier de bienvenu nous attendait à notre arrivée.
Les commerces de proximités sont à moins de 10 minutes en voitures.

(Bien que ne parlant pas beaucoup le Français, l’échange est tout à fait possible même si vous ne parlez pas Anglais, ils ont l’habitude).
