Welcome to your own National Geographic! This is not just another house... it's an experience unlike any other.
Villa Macaw is a gorgeous villa nestled within the primary forest, with three bedrooms and a private pool, as well as beautifully landscaped gardens to gather with friends or enjoy solitude. The location is ideal for retreats, multifamily gatherings, or friends traveling together.
It is located within the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge in Punta Uva on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica. The house is 1 km from the turquoise-colored waters of the Caribbean Sea where you can enjoy beautiful virgin beaches, snorkeling over the coral reefs, kayaking, wildlife hikes, horseback riding, and just plainly relaxing.
Designed as a family residence for families and groups, the villa comes fully equipped and can comfortably sleep up to 10 people in 3 separate private bedrooms. All bedrooms come fully furnished with linens and pillows, beach and bathroom towels, closets and clothing hangers, ceiling fans, a working desk, bedside tables, lamps, and comforters for cool nights.
You will enjoy the well-equipped kitchen with high-end appliances offered, with our professional chef gas stove/oven on the kitchen island, cooking and serving dishes, and utensils, with an abundance of counter space to prep your meals with the amazing ocean views. The large open spaces have dining capacity for 10 or more upon request, comfortable cushioned seating areas with a smart TV connected with a Chromecast and high-speed fiber optic internet, with a full-on view of the gardens, swimming pool, and ocean.
Villa Macaw brings you an abundance of wildlife every day. You are assured to see dozens of toucans, parrots, and macaws every day in addition to several kinds of monkeys, sloths, colorful frogs, morpho butterflies, hummingbirds, countless varieties of birds, and all kinds of exotic insects.
The property is located up a steep paved hill, but any type of vehicle should be able to make it up with no problem. It is private and completely secure, with security cameras and a closed electric gate at the entrance.
Daily regular cleaning is included from Monday to Saturday, with towel changes every two days, and sheets once a week. If you wish to have some laundry done, your cleaning lady will be happy to assist you with this. Breakfast may also be arranged ahead of time.
It is very important to note that we have a few loving cats, so if you are allergic, this may not be the place for you. They are not allowed in the bedrooms but do spend their days in the main house. They will be fed by our loyal employees.

The location and property condition were absolutely amazing. Coordinating with the property team was super easy too which makes a huge difference!
This house is ideally suited for groups looking for a rustic but very refined home stay. The design and amenities are top notch, but it is WILD. You will be surrounded by monkeys, toucans, macaws, frogs, and every type of crawling insect imaginable. So, if you’re weary of being so close to wild animals, consider another place! This is not a hotel with air conditioning and hermetically sealed environment.
I think it would be great to have more screens … the open bathrooms are great but using the bathroom after dark can be a harrowing experience.
Also… the trash situation. More guidance on how to separate the trash and protect it (we cleaned up trash cans both nights after animals knocked the open cans over and rooted through the trash. Lids or a protected trash area would be helpful.
Overall, really great spot! The house was so beautiful.

This is the most beautiful home in a gorgeous secluded location, surrounded by the jungle. You wake up to howler monkeys and watch parrots toucans hummingbirds and more visiting the garden. Manuel and his daughter Maya were incredibly helpful with our luggage that arrived 72 hours after us and our hire car which was delivered to the Pacific Coast! They also arranged a great canopy tour for us and recommended good places to eat and things to do. I can't recommend this property enough and would love to visit again.
