About this house rental
Beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath home located on the historic Suwannee River. Get away from it all. Easy access to Fanning Springs (1.5 miles up river) and Manatee Springs (7 miles down river). Bring a boat, or two 2-person kayaks available for use. Great views from the deck and dock that overhangs the river. Very peaceful.
Most people that know the Suwannee River feel that the home's location is fantastic, and the best of all the options. The river in this area is very large and grand, especially compared to up river where it can be quite narrow and crowded. It's size makes it great for skiing, tubing, and boating, and dealing with other boaters isn't really an issue. It is far enough up river (about 32 miles by boat) that you don't have the biting yellow flies of the coast, but close enough to boat down to the coast and back for fishing, or spending the day on your own private secluded island beach. The area has very little development as well, so you get the real sense of being in "old world" Florida. It truly is a unique, wonderful experience.
Please note: cell service may be limited. We have wi-fi with Starlink. There is no cable TV, however, we do have ROKU TV's. You are welcome to log into your streaming services, but, please be sure to log out when you leave the home so other guests can't use your services. This property is quite rustic and remote, and is a great way to get away from it all. However, there is limited access to cellular phone service. Please understand the nature of your get away before booking.

One of the more common questions we get is regarding docking a boat at the property. You have a few options with regards to keeping a boat on the Suwannee River (flow of the river and boat wakes are a problem). Approximately 1/2 mile down the road from our rental house is a public boat ramp which is not very busy, and easy to launch/retrieve your boat. That is the preferred method and would take less than 30 mins.
Leaving the boat in the water with the current and other boaters creating wakes is possible, but not optimal. One option would be to tie the boat to the dock which is cantilevered over the river and anchor the aft section in the river (might require swimming to shore unless you are creative). There is room to keep a boat, trailer and vehicle at the property.

Super location! Beautiful river view! Host was easy to get in touch with and quick to respond. The Kitchen was well equipped with all you could need; there was even an extra fridge. You do need to bring drinking water and ice along but stores are close by. There were ample towels and a washer. Fanning Springs is just a 5 minute drive! We had an awesome stay!

This place is spacious for a big family getaway, the view of the river is beautiful.If you are bringing toddlers or small children there are some hazards near the dock that was questionable. If you don’t like camping or bugs, this isn’t the place for you. We borrowed a blower from a nearby family member to blow all the webs and spider nests before we could use the outside furniture.There wasn’t a supply of toilet paper and luckily we made it before running out. There were half used rolls under the sinks. For the most part it was clean inside but there were harmless spiders in the house and some dead bugs too. The kitchen is pretty well stocked but a lot of glassware. There is no crock pot or slow cooker. But there are baking dishes and plenty of cook ware. The master Br bed was comfortable but the rest of the beds were old mattresses. Especially the ones in the bunk bed room.In the description it says there are games for kids but there really isn’t. So bring your own.There is a second fridge in the front entry way which was nice for our bottled water. The place is on a well so keep that in mind. There are only 2 ice trays so bring a bag or two ofIce. We caught small brim and perch using bread, then used the small fish and caught a large catfish and one large mud fish so there was some action and had fun catching anything we could. A lot of boat activity on the water and saw many fish jumping around in the water.Overall we had a great time and we would revisit.
