About this apartment rental

Enjoy La Jolla and the San Diego area from a lovely residential neighborhood, approximately four blocks from the golden sand of Windansea Beach. The residence has central air-conditioning (even though really not needed as so close to the beach that the residence enjoys the cool ocean breezes) ! All appliances and designer furnishings in this sophisticated contemporary are newer. There is sleeping for four in beds – the Master bedroom has a King bed, the guest bedroom has two full-size beds. All mattresses on beds are Plushtops. The granite countertop kitchen is fully equipped with dining table for six and counter seating at the bar. The living room comes with a wood -burning fireplace and there are hardwood floors throughout the unit. Free Direct TV and Wifi Internet come with the rental. There is a full-size washer and dryer for use in the unit.

The retreat has exclusive use of a private outdoor patio in the back yard with a covered outdoor seating area, a dining table, and three sun loungers. A new BBQ has also been installed for your exclusive use. The front yard patio is for the exclusive use of the upstairs residence.

The retreat has off-street parking for one car as well as on street parking and a public lot just a short block away. Parking is free.

Housekeeping every other week for monthly stays is included. Additional housekeeping is available.

The house is in a great location for enjoying the amenities of La Jolla and the San Diego area. La Jolla is a friendly town for walking. It is just four blocks to the Beach and La Jolla Village businesses, dining, shopping and other activities are within ½ mile of the retreat – town center, museums, restaurants, shops and businesses. A delightful Sunday Farmers Market is a source of fresh produce and unique crafts. The Coggan Aquatic Center with Olympic-size pool and sports complex offering tennis courts, track, baseball fields and basketball courts is located just two blocks east of the home.

As an alternative to strolling thru La Jolla, the main public bus line stops within a block of the house and provides transportation throughout La Jolla and south to Pacific Beach, Mission Bay and other San Diego destinations. Beach bikes are also readily available for rental. The retreat has off-street covered parking for one car as well as on street parking and a public lot just a short block away.

We enjoyed our stay at this nice little house. We had the entire first floor of the house. There is another similarly sized unit upstairs and a third unit in the back yard. We rarely saw anyone else and only occasionally noticed noise from people staying above us. There is a nice relaxing front patio with a little ocean peek-a-boo view and a nice back yard patio area as well. One can walk a few blocks down the street and find a little walkway to the beach. Many of the La Jolla downtown businesses are also just a brief walk away through beautiful and friendly neighborhoods. The house was also centrally located for us in the San Diego metro area and a great place to come back to after exploring.

This apartment is a gem, and Lisa (the owner) is a pleasure to work with. The living space is large, the bedrooms and bathrooms are well furnished, and the kitchen/living space can accommodate a large group. There is an outdoor barbecue and sitting area that is nice for entertaining. You can walk from the property to Windansea Beach in about 15 minutes, and into the village in about ten minutes.

This spotless first floor unit has a great location in a charming quiet area with ample parking on street and off. No matter what we looked for, we found it, clearly labeled so we could return it to the proper place for the next guests. The full size laundry pair was a real plus.

The place is clean, well accommodated, and in a great location. It was a 10 minute walk to the beach and a 20 minute walk to downtown La Jolla. Everything we wanted and needed was readily available!

This rental was a real gem. We have rented a few small houses in the past in this unique area but this place was our favorite. The rooms are spacious (the pictures shown on VRBO are accurate), modern, very clean (kudos to the cleaning team), well lighted (plenty of windows and light fixtures) and the central air conditioning works very well. The kitchen is fully equipped, the private garden is very pleasant and surprisingly big - it is well furnished and offers an added space with a roof (outdoor living room feeling). We found it to be perfect to chill during the sunny hours of the day, especially during this very warm August month. The location of the house is fabulous: it is a short and beautiful 8 minutes walk to Windandsea beach (hello paradise beach, Mediterranean style) and only a few steps from the free tennis courts (La Jolla High School). As far as shopping is concerned, here again, top location. We went shopping/eating out on Girard street or Prospect Street - what a bliss to be able to leave the car at home most of the time (parking the car in front if the house on the street was super easy)! We could walk from the house to Pavillons’ grocery store (Vons) - it is about 7 minutes away. In a nutshell, this was a « coup de coeur » for our family. We want to offer a big thank you (merci) to the owner Lisa who was very responsive and made our stay so comfortable. This property was exactly as described, no surprises. It has a fully equipped kitchen and we were able to prepare lots of food in it. The beds were comfortable, and everything seemed very clean. Our family of four had a very comfortable and long stay in this nice apartment and enjoyed every day. The location is superb, close to the beach close to the village with alk the restaurants, cafees, food store and pharmacy. Everything is in walking distance. We enjoyed walks through the beautiful and safe streets of the neighbourhood. The host is very responsive and professional. The apartment is equipped with everything you need and everything is quite good quality and clean. And I am a person that is very picky when it comes to cleaniness. We had a back yard for ourselves where we enjoyed our breakfast and dinner sometimes and even played ping pong. The garden is also beautiful and if you are lucky you will see exotic kolibri birds coming by. High speed and very reliable internet and dedicated home office area. I give a pure 10 for this apartment, the location, and host!

My partner and I had a wonderful 9 days in this beautiful house and quiet neighbourhood. The check-in process was quick and easy. This is not the usual holiday home that feels cold and empty. This house feels warm, comfortable and looks easy on the eyes. It's recommended for couples and families. I would definitely come back.

This place, in a quiet neighborhood, is walking distance to almost everything in La Jolla - beaches, restaurants, the seals & sea lions, etc. Very comfortable king-sized bed and comfortable outdoor living. Highly recommend if you want to be away from the hustle & bustle of La Jolla Village, but close enough to enjoy it when you want.

Loved staying here. Lisa was very easy to reach when I had questions. We could walk to beaches, restaurants and shops and having a dedicated parking spot was a bonus. We loved our first stay at this lower duplex unit enough to make a return visit for four weeks in January 2024. We found it to be a bright, clean, and comfortable base for our visit to family in La Jolla. The kitchen is well-stocked and spacious enough for most cooking needs. The outdoor patio in the back, dedicated to this unit, is sunny and private with enough space to have a few family members over. Some of the nicer beaches around town are within walking distance. We’ve also stayed at another of Lisa’s properties and found her to be a responsive host who made contact with us to ensure we had a comfortable stay.

I live in La Jolla and was looking for a rental for my son and grandchildren, which was comfortable and well located. This is a beautifully decorated apartment, with a great outdoor set-up (which we did not use as much as would have liked to, because it was winter). Everything is close by, from Windansea beach to La Jolla Cove to Bird Rock. I strongly recommend this apartment!

We stayed here for a week to celebrate Thanksgiving. The unit is well appointed with everything you need. Location was phenomenal. We walked to the beach, to Sugar and Scribe (a must) for breakfast, the Blue Whale (the owner is the BEST) for coffee, and downtown LaJolla for cove visits and dinner. I can't say enough good things. The space is equipped with most house or kids gear you could want. fyi for families since I didn’t see it advertised - they have outlet covers, booster chair, changing pad, pack and play and robust cookware. The house was exactly as advertised and perfect for our group. We could walk to the beach, many restaurants and shops. Communications with owner were efficient and timely. If I could make any suggestion, I wish a strainer was available for pasta, but really this is a small thing given everything else we could have needed for the kitchen was available. Our recent stay at this VRBO in the charming seaside town of La Jolla was nothing short of magical! This property was in the perfect location to walking distance to Windansea beach and La Jolla cove. The property itself was a perfect blend of luxury and comfort. The owner purchased new beach chairs and had them delivered the next day. She was very responsive and helpful. The house had everything we needed. Perfect for a family!

The unit was very clean, well appointed, conveniently located. The owner, Lisa, was easily reachable and responsive when we had issues. I would really like to give the top rating for our stay but when people are staying in the unit above every step they took was very noisy throughout the day and evening. Lisa has indicated that she will work to deal with this issue. Two other more personal issues. We would always prefer to sleep in a room with blackout shades. Second bedroom had them, the master did not. Secondly, I am a sports fan but the TV did not carry ESPN or the Golf channel. Both minor issues but worth mentioning.

We recently stayed at Lisa's property for my son's spring break and had a wonderful trip! The property was just as advertised, very clean! We didn't eat in, but the property had everything that you would need if you did. Especially appreciated the washer and dryer. Communication was very good and Lisa responded promptly. The location was amazing and in a very quiet location. We did a lot of walking and especially enjoyed the farmer's market at the La Jolla Elementary School to have lunch and pick up fresh fruits and snacks. We are looking forward to returning!

We had a real good time staying at tjis property. It is in a great location. Really close to the beaches and close to pretty much everything; starbucks, supermarket, restaurants. The condo was very clean and spacious. Bathroom in each bedroom really came in handy for us. Back patio area has a lot of space to hang out and do some grilling. Overall, my family and i really enjoyed our stay and will definitely look for this property in our future vacation plans.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property, which has a great location. It was an easy short walk down to the beautiful Windandsea Beach even with a couple of kids, and we enjoyed chilling out on the front patio late in the day. The whole place feels very new and modern and has everything you need. We found parking was easy on the street right in front, but there is a designated spot off the alley at the back too.
